Octavia MK4 MY2023 OTA update went wrong (03A8)
Welp, the infotainment is offering 03A8 update on my late 2023 Octavia every time I turn the car on. I don't want to. I don't need it. It's going to mess things up. Bugger off, Škoda, and stop behaving like a Stellantis product. 😖

Very high bite point on Skoda Fabia 2 2011 estate 1.2 tsi (CBZA) 5 speed manual
Sons is a mk1 55plate and one side of the clutch disk disintegrated. Probably down to old age as there was still a reasonable amount on the flywheel side. No air in system. It only had 60k on the clock when he got it it so it had only being doing around 3000miles a year so could also have been an elderly driver that slipped it a lot. Good shout getting it noted in the contract. His has been very reliable apart from clutch. Have had to do a couple of suspension bushes/ball joints, rear brake shoes and as said fitted a new slave cylinder but nothing major. Pretty good for a 20 year old car. Alasdair

CarPlay crackling issue, software update fix?
Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me. I have a 2021 Škoda Fabia with the Swing infotainment system. Part number: 6V0 035 869 H Hardware: 695 Software: 8742 I’m experiencing the well-known Apple CarPlay crackling/distorted audio issue. The sound starts crackling after a while. I have tested multiple iPhones and they all show the same problem, while Android Auto works perfectly. My Škoda dealer confirmed there is no newer official software available for my VIN, but I have read that several people solved this issue by updating to MU 8755 (MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0080L_8755). Would anyone be willing to share the firmware or point me to a working download? Thanks in advance!

Remote App Pre Heating / Cooling & Also Infortainment Updates
I find that both heating and cooling do work well if they start, but at busy times it's not unusual to have the attempt to contact the car time-out multiple times. For example it will work OK at 10am, but no chance of getting it to connect at 8am when everyone is preparing for their day. I'm guessing that Skoda have undersized the servers that handle the requests. When it does work it does an effective job, provided that the traction battery had a reasonable level of charge, I'm not sure what the lower limit would be.

Tire pressure value can not be seen on central infotainment display
@Warrior193 As far as i understand there is no necessity to buy original part. But there are different sensors listed as if the part matches. Which sensor should i look for?

Software Update available for Bolero?
Hi, I was looking for the latest firmware update for my Scala (MIB3 Bolero). I had problems where the unit would sometimes reboot by itself spontaneously. The Bolero had the following system details: SW Train: MEN3_EU_SK370_P2345L MU SW: 1790 I didn't want to take the risk of bricking the unit, so I made an appointment with the dealership. They told me that they weren't sure if an update would fix the problem, but they were happy to diagnose it for me. So I left the car yesterday at the dealership and they gave me a rental car. This morning, I got a call that the car was ready. They diagnosed that the unit had faulty software on it. They replaced it with the correct software with MU SW: 1800. I didn't had to pay anything, it was free of charge, and I gave the rental car back. Now the unit is working flawlessy. Kudos to the dealership and Skoda Netherlands.

Hi from the Netherlands
Hi, my name is Nick and I live on the west side of the Netherlands, about 15 minutes away from Schiphol. In September 2025, I bought a Skoda Scala 1.0 Sport Business from 2023, to replace my Opel Corsa D from 2007 with 220k KM, which was still running and driving good. I bought the Scala with 35000 KM, and found out that the battery was broken after I just got home and want to drive somewhere. It was solved under warrenty. Right now the car has 48xxx KM's and I'm very pleased with it's performance, fuel economy and handling. I just registered on this forum to browse around for tips and trics. Kind regards, Nick

Inexplicable tyre deflation - no puncture, valve OK
I'm pretty sure 100m at 20psi and lowish speeds wouldn't be the reason the tyre was not repairable.

Tire pressure value can not be seen on central infotainment display
It is possible to fit an aftermarket direct TPMS system - although I'd not consider it worth the cost. In my experience with a number of slow punctures, the indirect (ABS) system is accurate enough. Tyre pressure checks should be part of regular driver routine, along with fluids.

Tire pressure value can not be seen on central infotainment display
Update: I called 5 skoda service. They all said it can not be done. They mentioned that if there is no direct tpms on the car when it is produced it is not possible to add this equipment.

Very high bite point on Skoda Fabia 2 2011 estate 1.2 tsi (CBZA) 5 speed manual
Oh wow, that's quite concerning... We ended up signing the contract earlier today, but made the dealer add that they have knowledge of the clutch bite point being high and them confirming that it's normal and the clutch is in good condition into the contract. Did you figure out if it was the air in the system that caused the problem? Also, was there wear on the clutch when you removed it?

Sagittarius 19" alloy cover loose and fell or theft?
Don't forget Asda. I needed four tyres due to cracking, ordered online and fitted at my local tyre centre. The tyre centre manager said I had paid an amount less than he could buy the same tyres for. tom

Head Gasket?
I agree doubt you would get white smoke if its a bad oil cooler. White smoke is normally HG so maybe both? Alasdair

Very high bite point on Skoda Fabia 2 2011 estate 1.2 tsi (CBZA) 5 speed manual
Could be air in system or a failing master/slave but my sons mk1 1.2htp clutch totaled its self at around that mileage. No warning or slipping just no drive suddenly. Clutch kit wasn't expensive but labour might be unless you can do it yourself plus doubt clutches are covered warranty wise. I did his myself and changed slave at same time for around £150. I assume its a car dealer so maybe see if they will cover a new clutch as well or reduce price accordingly. Old style cable operated clutches bite point got higher as the cable stretched but hydraulic if the bite point is high its either a worn clutch or air in system. Alasdair

A4 sideskirts on Octavia
I understand that, but it just seems like a slightly pointless exercise - unless for some reason you already have paint matched A4 side skirts. There are options that require no modification, headache and hassle to fit!

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
You need a co-driver.... well Cornwall you'd get sent down some silly roads where you co-driver navigator comes with devices on the lap switching between them. Google has farm tracks on their maps which is ridiculous and you can't get them to remove them either. If their car passes a potholed route that's good enough for them, even if its shown as not a through road and the tarmac finishes. Their concept of off road. UK we dont show off road... we hope. I see fantasy Waze maps on production live maps. User input you get fantasy maps. A proper mapping company validates user input. In Googles case their own staff enter rubbish.

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
I got Kodiaq 2017 and trully happy that is not connected to manufacturer server 24/7, not going to cry for lack of TMC, there is always solution 😅. But was funny when I drove last weekend and see huge traffic on the way to Cornwall, was wondering why is that, now I know 😂

Lane Change Assist
Wow, my 2025 IV kodiaq does not have lane change assist. It has regular lane assist which will steer, but not switch lanes. I guess it must be a country-specific thing

Or last out to connected services in your next car. You get the firmware updates without paying for connected services. They come free. Radio logos can get updated after a firmware update so Im told. But to save waiting you can use MartiniBs links. Satnav updates come over the air if you pay or use the links. Just leaves traffic reports which is subscription via connected services to the head. I'd probably cough up and do incremental updates on the rest where I found they were not being done. Android Automotive has that market place to add a new dimension of subscription services for where you need to subscribe. Listening to streamed services on the move I reckon is problematic but some do. I suppose that one advantage of the closure of TMC is you don't get "your route is changing" as you turn into Lidl. Always Lidl.😂
