  1. Past hour
  2. Have you tried doing a factory reset of the infotainment, and then logging in again as primary user? This might help, but I've not heard of anything like this before. If that fails to resolve the issue I think you'll need to goto a dealer, especially if you can easily reproduce the fault. If not easy to reproduce I'd recommend taking a video of it happening. My dealer were receptive to video proof of an issue.
  3. Just done a quote for late September and it's an additional £159, which seems fair enough when the value of the car is £45k

  5. I would dump the oil and pour it into a white plastic basin, as that can tell a story. I plan to do mine once I'm out of warranty.
  6. Warrior193, no its petrol as above, the suitable oil was £22 for 1 ltr, thankfully its not really my problem as its a lease car, but while oil consumption was expected and acceptable when i was in the motor trade in the 70’s, it should not be these days, not with the materials and machine processes that modern engines are made with now, as i said in a previous post, lots of new vehicles over the years, petrol and diesel and this is the first one thats need oil between services.
  7. Today
  8. The front lip and rear spoiler really do make it along with it being lower. I’m edging closer to having nothing left to do on mine other than lowering… What’s the bhp change in this time?
  9. ^^^ A 1.5TSI Hybrid. PS. recommended by VW / Skoda, VW508 00 / 509 00. So 0w20 FS IV.
  10. I'd consider 1 litre of lube oil consumed in more than 11K miles a very reasonable usage rate. Is this a diesel hybrid? How much did you get 'stung' for the oil - consider buying the correct grade from a reputable online seller, in 5 or more litre quantities for topping-up between oil changes.
  11. Tested the code after letting the car sit for 6 hours (cold engine): Cold Engine (Ignition ON, Engine OFF): The code was static and refused to clear. I tried clearing it 4 times in a row, but it reappeared instantly on every rescan without even starting the engine. Warm Engine: After driving to lunch and back, I cleared the code on ignition—it wiped cleanly and stayed gone. Will check the rest of the suggestions when I come home. And retray to clear fault when the engine is cold.
  12. coming up to my 2nd year service - what should I look out for? Mrs doesn't drive it much done around 5500miles - 1.5 Petrol Sportline
  13. Comparison shots of Gandalf evolving over the years - from brand new to now.
  14. I would have thought the parking brake would be slower to release than the auto hold ? The parking brake is a mechanical worm drive whereas the auto-hold just maintains hydraulic pressure in the brake circuit. The parking brake release may appear smoother since there's probably sufficient power in the engine to override it as its releasing.

  16. @Evolution13 I know, I'm not posting anything outside the UK. I was just saying that it is just as hot or even hotter in the places you mentioned, so if it happens there... but there are no reports to report on, maybe for the reasons already mentioned? There is no point in posting EV fires anyway, as the same old debate about ICE cars catching fire more often will just flare up again (see what I did there, pun intended 😁). Until we actually get updated and correct facts on the numbers, there is nothing to discuss.
  17. Many issues / faults are KNOWN ISSUES to VW Group, Dealers / Technicians. Maybe even with a TSP / TPI, yet time after time, 'Never heard of that before', nerer seen that before, and sometimes 'they all do that'. The VW way. 3 monkeys or Tommy. Deaf, dumb and blind. The internet really has stuffed it up for the VW group.
  18. @Graham Butcher What interests me really is what is actually happening here . So UK Insurers are those that should know if other statistics from Fire & Emergency services include other vehicles than just BEV Cars, vans, busses, lorries. No point the figures for e-bikes, e-scooters as electric vehicles.
  19. In Skoda they told me I can get the K or the P, and I found a good deal on the K
  20. I know what you mean; however, what happens elsewhere does not mean that the same will not or cannot happen here, even with combustion vehicles.
  21. Why 3V0035816K? This is kamiq/Scala Not for 9,2" Screen
  22. Many thanks for this. Once I have a definitive answer to the issue, I can use this if it is the known problem.
  23. Many thanks for the info. Have asked for a breakdown of the parts and costs. Will have a better idea if the same issue you mention then...
  24. This morning I brought car to Skoda Dealer to replace the factory Amundsen screen with the Columbus one (part n. 565919606D) and factory Amundsen navigation in the glove box with the Columbus one (part n. 3V0035816K); I also replaced the cable what connect the two units. Of course I brought with me the purchases invoices to witness the parts were regularly purchased from a wreckage shop in order to remove legally the component protection. One hour ago Skoda contacted me saying they gave up as the screen doesn't turn on: can anybody help me saying me what else can I do?
  25. Many thanks for this info. I have asked for a breakdown of the parts required and costs
  26. There were quite a few associated with the GAP, Cosmetic damage, tyre and alloy insurance and for the lifeshine cover. I know it's a personal preference to have these, but my cars have been clipped to many times in carparks over the years.. The usual sales documents and a copy of the green registration slip and the Skoda aproved used documents and roadside cover. Then came the more interesting ones which included a Handover checklist, the Battery Health Test and a Car condition checklist, which was a bit like a normal service list with everything checked off.
