My VRS has finally arrived, ordered October 21 & picked up yesterday 🙂

Good news! (For me) my vrs iv has arrived. After 16 months, and exactly one year after the original delivery date! I’m feeling my age, as I’m finding it pretty bewildering to figure out where everything is in the menus. So far so good though, I’m not sure if it was sitting a long time before it was finished, but everything seems to be working…. At the moment. oddly, the mode button wouldn’t work at first, but then after an hour on the road and an ota update, it’s now fine. it also threw an engine malfunction on the first start, although this has gone and it’s telling me it needs an oil service within 100 miles. It only has 9 miles on the odometer, so not sure what that’s all about. it drives really nice, and feels a nice place to sit. So really happy so far only frustrations so far are the sunroof option seems to have cost me a sunglasses holder, and there’s some questionable panel gaps, overlap where the bonnet meets the wings, on both sides! Must be a feature. Hope everyone else who is still waiting, get theirs soon!
  3. Just a phone picture from a twilight walk around Sale Water Park it would have been nicer without the pylons

Finally received some positive news today. Been told my VRS is ST30 which suposedly means it has left the factory and on its way to exit port of Emden. Anyone know if that's legit and if so, rough time line for arrival to UK. Thanks . Ordered last Aug so I'm hoping sometime in October.

Waiting to come off the ferry in Portsmouth after 1800 miles driven in Spain over 3 weeks. Car performed faultlessly and averaged 39.8 mpg, fuel prices in Spain similar to UK, (pump prices are discounted by Euro 0.25/ltr) so not too painful. Now will need a wash and vacuum!

Well, had a call from my Dealer a couple of days ago, to say “our” Enyaq had arrived on site, even though he knows we now have a Tesla and bought another little Citigo from him a few months ago, so we said we’d pop by over the weekend and have a look, just to see it. So we have just got back, and we pick it up on Thursday! Still had the government grant and Skoda contribution attached to it. So the 3dr Citigo is going. Lynz is very excited which is nice.

I just updated the spreadsheet there with the order details and delivery date. There's some wild variations in delivery time in weeks. Mine is less than half of others. I'm wondering if Skoda are prioritising some countries or dealers as this is the second MK4 Octavia the family has ordered and achieved a VERY quick delivery (received a 1.5TSi style in Jan 2022 after ordering in Aug2021)

Hey, soon it’s celebration time 🎉🥳 My Octy arrived at the dealers today so picking it up next week as soon as I get the finances sorted. I might take Friday off for to enjoy the full experience 😊 Looks like this little fella is finally getting his key (bought it even before I ordered the car 😊)
  10. Just a quick 'n' dirty fix but it does expand. Ahh I see what you mean.....
  11. Guessing he did not make it back from work

Is it just me being overly optimistic…. Or are there far more positive posts starting to appear with deliveries and delivery dates?
  13. I don't know, maybe with the very earliest ones? But I remember one of the first ones locally to come in for its first MoT at the station I was working at and the first thing I noticed was the darkness inside quickly followed by the dark head lining. And that was an early 04 plate.
  14. For some read most Few people sign up to any forum to say they're happy with a product. And I suspect when they're given advise or the dealer fixes the problem then they disappear. People are only interested in moaning. Of course it's not helped by those who dish out advice and constantly bleet on about the past problems which has no relevance to what the OP asked. Keith - To reiterate, there's nothing whatsoever to worry about with a new Karoq, or rather nothing more than any other car for sale on the market.
  15. No, no recall action. No problems at all, from day 1. Thats one reason I bought the same model car for a second time. I would advise the OP to get one - the new one is slightly better than the previous model, and uses a little less fuel. I imagine some forum posts are made by owners reporting a problem, asking advice then they disappear. So most owners that don't join Briskoda have no problems.
  16. Im on my 2nd new Karoq DSG. Still no kangarooing.

Hi, Got some good news on Tuesday when I went in to dealer to sign papers and was told car was there! Picking it up on Tuesday, almost a year since ordering. Looks good - I'd forgotten what it looked like as there's none on the road that I ever see.

I picked mine up a couple of days ago. I'm enjoying it so far. Only real issues are a hesitant auto gearbox and slightly glitchy infotainment system. I hope all those of you who are still waiting receive some good news soon.
  20. Wow thats close. I think the platform they use now is a 5 minute walk. Funnily enough, it is the proximity of that railway line that prevents Man Utd from expanding that side of the ground to match the others.
  21. No 28 still with me, had a lot of upkeep done, refurbish alloys, replace sub-frame and tie rods etc and all the general stuff, lamps lights fluids filters and service Great car still and has a lot of meaning to me, the edition number is my home number and the reg is my house name 🙂 (almost house name witzend reg WTZ) 72k Enjoy all enjoy

  23. Highly likely you'll never know exactly who owned a car before, but you can tell how it's been looked after by the overall condition inside & outside plus the service history regardless of whether it's a private or company car. I have had company cars for several years and I look after them as if its my own, and whenever it is due for a service I just tell them to do whatever needs doing so they are all an excellent buy for their next owner. Don't be put off by higher mileages, mine spends most of its life on the motorway so very little gets worn or stressed, for example my front brake pads lasted for 130k miles from new, very little suspension and related wear as a result of the easy life so I would go by overall condition and service history. I would be much happier buying a higher mileage car that's had an easy life than a lower mileage car that has been used for mainly shorter trips. Also bear in mind a diesel may not be suitable for lower mileage usage or too much city driving due to the DPF, and I wouldn't discount the 1.5TSI - test drive one to see if it suits you, and there have been reports on this forum of pretty high petrol consumption on some of the more powerful petrols, it really depends where and how its driven.

Depends on the company, I have just checked the one I used and I think you avoid the 19% German VAT, but pay the 17.5% UK VAT instead. Seem to have a bulk rate with a parcels carrier (from memory mine arrived by DPD) and the carriage was only €4.95 per complete wheel, which is not a significant carriage fee. It took about 2 weeks (in busy season) to make up the wheels and tyres, fully balanced etc, and about 5-6 days from dispatch to delivery. Back in November 2019 it was £1=€1.16, so not that different to current rate of 1.12 It is worth checking as some UK companies seem to be anything upto 50% more expensive which is lot more than the carriage and import fee. And if they have put an English option on the German website it is just as easy to order as a website in UK. I sensibly chose a tyre that was newly launched so knew I wouldn’t get old stock, and the tyre choice was much wider (and in stock, unlike most UK websites) I totally get your concerns about importing, but if you are saving £50+ per wheel it is hard to justify spending hundreds more just to buy a foreign made tyre from a British retailer.

Shows exactly this ^^ in the "Engineering" Menu Software update/versions shows empty screen. I'll get the wife to take a picture as it "comes up all the time"
  27. Some had to get rid of their cars after months of hassle. They even lost money to get out of them. They did come and ask the questions, raised the issues and luckily many then got their issues resolved. Those with no issues & that believe they are an internet myth are just like the Employees many had to deal with in Dealerships. 'Never heard of that'. 'Overblown on the internet' People only go to forums to moan'. 'They all do that, it is a characteristic'. VW will fix it, they are the biggest manufacturer in the world. They had the best engineers in the world. Then they left. @kodiaqsportline All that IT / Software stuff on the various models of Skoda & VW group cars is overblown, fiction, not happening any more than with other manufacturers. Well actually it is since VW took the IT in house and co-cked up. PS the post by @Sanqharwas the reason for replies, and the relevance. Internet myths from people that 'thought' something, yet were wrong. or those that post, ' I have never seen', or 'I have never heard of'.
  28. So the sound seems to be gone, even though I didn't find anything when I poked around. I did poke around between the screen and dash with a trim removal tool where the sound seemed to be, maybe I pushed whatever it was and lodged it in place? Will find out for sure if the screen is ever replaced. Fingers crossed it doesn't return!
  29. If several keepers / drivers have not done that in 11 years / 80,000 miles then it is up to those driving now not to. Or maybe they have and then the engine was repaired. The thing about older cars is that we have years to learn about them. Newer cars need years on the roads before we know if there any good as older cars.
  30. I haven't forgotten about this, until late June I was still swimming regularly, but then I took a bout of something rather COVID-esque from work and wasn't quite right for a bit. Been better for some time but haven't returned to swimming yet. In regards to other health stuff, I was working on my feet for the job (valeting, 0800-1730 usually) so was kept quite active. It was a temp contract, but in that time I managed to shed some excess weight I had been carrying and managed to keep it off with walking a lot. Now 2 1/2 stone down and feeling better than I have felt in years.
  31. Also those spark plugs from euros are not right you want these that’s probably why your car isn’t working correctly
  32. No problem John just to let you know mate I have four unfitted uprated spark plugs gapped at 0.6mm that I was gonna fit at my next service if you need to try anything different you can just give me what I paid for them from OPIE oils (it was a damn site cheaper than what you paid from those stealers)
  33. I wouldn’t put winters on only one axle unless you want to go off the road in a big way. Slowing down and cornering/changing direction are where you would come very unstuck
  34. Had detailing and 12 month ceramic protection (MPM Detailing, Shropshire, real gent and knows his stuff!) then fitted OE mud-flaps bought off Ebay. It's the little things that bring the happiness!

Well, I called to the dealer randomly (as I was in town shopping). The car had arrived 20 min before I called. Due to work, I can't collect until this time next week. I thought about pushing collecting it to the new year but decided "na, I'll take it now!"
  37. …. and as well as that, he’s nuts! 😁
  38. I have reduced this issue to almost zero. If you unclip the roof liner and put some lanolin grease on the clips then clip it back in this will fix most of the noise. The noise comes form the movement of the roof liner moving as you turn or lean where it clips in. It was driving me insane as well and totally understand.

  41. I thought kangarooing only applied to manuals. My 2018 DSG never showed any signs. tom

Ah, so my mind is not completely gone! I was sure there was a transmission column, and recently I wasn't finding it... On a different note: a few minutes ago I received an update for the car. It got customs clearance for transport to the dealer (so it's already in Romania); no idea how much time that will take, given the trucks&drivers shortage.

And there is no 1.5 tsi classic engines in sheet, only e-tec and g-tec.
  44. no guessing involved, the code is generated from the vehicle vin / spec given. The op can choose whether or not to try it
  45. Recently removed from a 2015 Skoda Octavia VRS. Very good condition, came off an Octavia with black pack. Collection preferred £150 ono
  46. Hi all, Removed these from my 2018 Vrs 245. There is some kerb marking on them hence the price. Also 4 Pirelli PZero tyres are fitted. About 5mm tread on 3 and one is much better as it's nearly new. Also nearly new Kopaček vrs centre caps are fitted. Located in the Netherlands. Looking for 650 euro. For the UK buyers. I will be driving to the Goodwood festival of speed next weekend so if you're buying and want to avoid shipping costs I can bring them with me.
  47. do you know which relay it was???
