  1. Lovely end to the day last night.........
  2. Studland Bay, Dorset and Old Harry Rocks in the distance - went down very nicely with a coffee this morning…
  3. A couple from Crosby Beach the other week. And because I’m basically a child…
  4. Thrilled to share a major milestone! We've officially launched the first ever vRS Owners Club in the UAE. We've got a strong foundation of 24 members already, and the hunt's on to expand the pack! Check out some pics from a recent meet-up.
  5. Our was previously investigated, but the noise came and went, but appears to be more evident with the onset of the warmer weather. The dealer took another look earlier and are now we fitting two new top mounts under warranty 👍 I'll update once they are fitted.
  6. A couple from the local reservoir earlier...........
  7. I just picked this up a couple of weeks ago. 2018 SEL Executive 190 DSG. Loving it so far!
  8. Hello, welcome to the forum. Most likely to be a sticking calliper, if you can, jack the affected wheel off the ground and check for drag when rotated - you can also check the wheel bearing for excess play or damage at the same time.
  9. It's horses for courses. In the Scala it's carpet mats in the passenger compartment and a good rubber boot mat. In the CRV it's rubber mats everywhere as we have two dogs who like woodland walks and our daughter has horses hence lots of muddy boots. The dogs don't come in the Scala as our large Greyhound wouldn't fit.
  10. OK, here’s another “back in my day” trend - rubber mats were very much a feature of only poverty spec models in the range, ‘de-luxe’ versions had carpets. I must admit I still subscribe to that view. (But then I don’t have a dog -wet or dry 🙂) another example of the time was chrome/no chrome! Both seem to have been reversed nowadays…
  11. Completely different to the iPace, but I see 200kW+ regularly on the right chargers (15-20 minute charge window). I would say unless the chargers are playing up int in the range of 120 (140 most of the time) to 240kW (220 most of the time). I deliberately chose a vehicle with an 800v battery though, as I have different priorities.
  12. @Danoid It's about 2 years old. My O3 pre-FL was serviced and had MOT in 2022 and then in Dec 2023 it entered for another MOT done by the same Skoda dealer, but this time they replaced the whole steering wheel because of a potentially faulty airbag. The car's warranty has expired long ago but I guess that security features are still covered for longer.

U can use the same fitting points, however u can't use the existing Torx screws. They're too small and not wide enough. U need an Undertray Fitting Kit. It comes with:- - 10x Extra long Torx Screws with washers - 3x WHT 000 729 A - hexagon socket head bolt, self-locking,(M8x20mm)

Only the TDi and Scout models got the full length front undertray. The VW All-track models also use it. It goes all the way to the sub-frame. All other models get the standard short length cover that doesn't cover the sump. I recently changed mine for the full length version. I had to get the DSG version as it requires the two cutouts to allow airflow directly onto the DSG transmission. In addition, I also got the centre exhaust tunnel cover. Mine came with all other underbody aero covers, minus 6a & 6b as the 220 has dual exhausts. Comparison:- Centre Exhaust (#2) + Full length cover (#1):- Underbody Aero options:-
  15. Does the socket in the boot work? If not then because they share the same fuse it could be as simple as a blown fuse.
  16. @deek72 TSI & TDI,s came with 105ps. So as well saying a TSI 105 ps if that is what it is.
  17. @Notnefmail If the ambient temperature was 23*oC then the coolant was no hotter than that until it did get heated, so if the Blue light goes out at 50*oC then that is when it goes out. ? Is it a 1.6 TDI CR?
  18. Look for a coated disc too, less likely to corrode over time. You could skimp on the discs if needed but always put quality pads in.
  19. I thought the blue coolant symbol simply means the engine is cold and not to spank it until that light goes out.
  20. yeah sold up and i had big plans for it , when he sold it i figured i'd spend thousands painting mine
  21. @yeti99 The change is not recent on the schedule / recommendation it was a year ago. ? What engine does your Yeti have? As to prices quoted, a TDI and Cambelt & Water Pump is one price, parts and labour. A TSI might be less, but a 1.4 TSI or 1.5 TSI ACT can be really silly prices, and some at dealerships just quote the really silly price they see on a screen. Cam Belt Guidance change (1).pdf
  22. Not saddo at all! I occasionally check the status of my old plates via the DVLA website >> https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ Amazing to see some are still rolling, others not - my old deceased Fiat is below. Try your Triumph plate! 😄
  23. White Triumph Dolomite 1500HL... CHM 342V.. I'm a bit of a Saddo with old registration Numbers too. Maybe just a Saddo full stop 😂.
  24. Vauxhall cavalier 1.9 gl ,,vhp 831S ,dont know why i still remember the reg .
  25. That cover is a rubbery plastic which will flex and stretch if the airbag fires. This stretching will likely cause the bits you stuck to it to pop off and fly into your face. The chrome strip that's part of the cover is engineered to stay in place on the cover so there is no risk there. The basic rule is never stick anything to an airbag cover, or run any cables across one.
  26. Carpet every time for me, and strong brush and a vacuum soon gets any mud out of them after wet weather dog walks.
  27. Hi Aperture, Thanks for the confirmation of this and your comments re. troubleshooting. I think i'm on the right path but will see if I can get any more clarity on whats going on over the weekend. Until then I have a trickle charger going on every night to stop the battery being repeatedly depleted too far.
  28. The first thing I did when I ordered my Scala in February was to order a set of rubber mats from skoda-parts. They are so much easier to clean after long walks with the dog on wet days. I can also recommend a made to measure rear seat cover from www.overthetop.co.uk If like me the dog goes in the back.
  29. Still a hard no here, particularly at the price. Feel like the clothing brands that used to buy a 50p polo top, add their logo and decide it was £80 now 😂
  30. I can’t live with 45 minute charge windows whilst out, as I can charge multiple times in a day. 800v makes a bathroom break a substantial charge on a decent charger. They have pushed out marketing about an Octavia estate mind.
  31. Judging from comments on other posts (including yours) covering the routes to car topic, the common theme is that it is 'patchy' and is heavily dependent on the 'route details' successfully passing through Skoda's servers and thence OTA to the car. Software version 0276 was loaded onto our car to address the SOS call errors that kept occuring, but it also enabled OTA navigation map database and live traffic info to be received OTA, which on the previous software version did not happen. I would suggest therefore that in terms of your software version, you have one that does at least ensure that OTA communication to the car can take place (assuming such messages/data etc. are being sent from Skoda in the first place). Dealers are meant to ensure your car has relevant software updates when they service it - again 'patchy' performance - ours has remained unchanged on 0276 through 3 services, and I have only seen one other forum poster noting they had had an update as part of a service without asking for it. Software updates take a long time and therefore I think dealers try to limit doing them to cases where they are needed to address a known fault, so as to not tie up workshop space. In my view, if everything else on your car is performing as it should (hardware excluded), then I'd leave well alone - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  32. Generally only use Normal in our early 22 1.5TSi Karoq and it coasts. Not only does it coast, but it seems to roll remarkably freely - it'll go considerable distances without slowing much. After it being selectable on our Tiguan I was bemused that it's not selectable in Kaorq - you're just stuck with it.
  33. The full undertray is not a standard fitment. I think it’s only fitted to territories which has challenging terrain. I recall a member bought and fitted one, but can’t remember who. EDIT… It was JR RS in Oz

I bought one of the follow for £8 off eBay then bought another later, for £4, both new, I used the second to get gearbox oil out (no drain plug). Used them both for years, still have one left used it only this week to get water out of a domestic water meter box. Better and more expensive extractors are available. I used to use Bars Flush Cooling System Cleaner but it doesn't seem to around anymore* other than a USA version. I was told local car company Cosworth used to put Bars (Leaks) Conditioner in their engines but don't know if that's true,(course they also done the "dog's turd" in the tube for those with memories that go back). * other than below - Bars Flush Cooling System Cleaner - for example only - https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/bars-flush-cooling-system-cleaner-100g-baf100/

I suspect it is from Erwin. Google Erwin Skoda and you can set up an account which will allow access. Access costs about 7 euro per hour I believe. Should be plenty enough time to download the whole lot.
  37. Thanks for everyone's help. Can confirm that 127cm bars fit without issue.
  38. River glaven at night
  39. Hi Zea. Thank you, I am enjoying my Superb, it is a fantastic car, I’m still learning about it! Lol regards. James

Hi @Zea thanks, Loved it on the test drive so just waiting for the right one to come up.
  42. I would suggest you remove whatever you stuck to the chrome strip on the steering wheel because that is one of the airbag covers and you'll get a facefull of whatever it is if that airbag goes off.
  43. 1976 Toyota Celica 1600 ST ...with an Eagle on the bonnet! 🤩
  44. If Skoda brought out an EV estate with decent range they could probably just take my money. Even without 800V. Something like the ID7 tourer but perhaps a class down - more Octavia-sized than Superb-sized - would be perfect for me. I know Skoda have said they will have some sort of "Combi" EV "by 2026" but given Skoda have a good reputation for estates, and the EV estate market isn't exactly flooded, I'm hoping they're aiming at a sooner timescale than that.
  45. I’m waiting for an estate … with 800v batteries.
  46. Another SUV style car, stupid for the city. Whoever starts making normal looking small EVs will make a killing. This could have been an electric Fabia with much wider appeal IMHO. The e-UP had long waits for new cars when VW closed the order book (has long waits as still being made to fulfil the order book AFAIK) so the demand is there. Cities are imposing ULEZ / ZEZ across europe so a small EV city car will be in big demand and skoda come up with this. The Dacia Spring will kick this one's butt on price alone.
  47. I don't know if it's the same as my old Octy, but on that the handbrake adjustment went like this:- Stop the car, engine running, handbrake off. Push the footbrake as hard as you can into the floor. Even use both feet if you have an automatic or DSG. Now pull on the handbrake without releasing the footbrake. Release the footbrake and then the handbrake. If this works you should have the handbrake fully on at 5 or 6 clicks. I'd do that annually, when booking the MoT, and never failed on handbrake adjustment.
  48. Check carefully the joints of the hard plastic sections of the brake servo vacuum hose. They split and leak air, making the MAP sensor give readings to the engine ECU that confuse the poor thing.
