Oil on top of cap could have been some spilt during oil change. Was there any signs of oil actually in coolant or inside expansion vessel? The white crystals are probably antifreeze thats dried out. I would top up to max and monitor it regularly. If there was oil inside vessel it may be due to oil cooler failing. Alasdair

Yellow triangle is normally a non critical fault and should be ok to drive short distances. If it turns red then stop immediately. As previously said needs scanned to pin point but normally a message is displayed. The message Put in P could be a pointer to bad switch in gear selector. Try moving through all the gears multiple times. There are I believe microswitches that can wear out or become sticky so the car doesnt reckognise it being in park when you switch engine off. Have tested for clutch slip but none evident.

In Kent for a week. Went along to Dungeness.

This was clocked on the last MOT (Sept 2025) and listed under Minor Defects. Got it back to the same garage today to have it done as I didn't fancy the job myself after watching a few Youtube videos. The bill was £102, which I thought was reasonable and happy that it's done now and one less thing to worry about. Hope the price helps others to decide what to do.

Oh, come on, you have to admit on the running costs you had a few years of cashing it in big time; even with that PPM, surely you're still going to be better off than running an ICE car? Anyway, I thought you always claimed that it was all about saving the planet and less about the cheapness of running and maintenance costs?

I stated it may be coincidel, the noise started after I had the dash lights being diagnosed. It was then my garage said it could not lock into my car to pull up outstanding issues.

Just a small update, ran a last revision by Kalam @ Russell Road and Racing on the weekend and final numbers are 410hp and 554nm. Car is running sweet and no hiccups. He is happy with the results and so am i 😎💪🏻

I have been to my Skoda dealer today, the update came up on the way so we had something to discuss, they didn't find anything specifically wrong but checked all software, forced the update and reset things. I won't know if it is fixed until tomorrow or the next day. If you still have warranty I would suggest you contact your dealer, if not report it to Skoda UK customer services who are monitoring this case. From the Scala Facebook page I know others are having similar problems.

If there was no oil in vessel chances are its down to extreme hot weather or perhaps coolant pump or temp sender is getting tired. As said keep an eye on it Alasdair

I had an annoying clunk develop when switching from fresh air to recirculating and vice-versa. I had installed a rear camera when I first got the car and the clunk just started happening recently. There is another flap above the recirculating flap, just a narrow one that sits on top of the box. Found out after much trial and error, that somehow the loom for the camera had moved and the big connector was catching that flap. It was holding the flap against the motor, and when it had wound it up sufficiently, the flap sprang open/shut and caused the noise. Thought I'd post this in case anyone else had the same thing. Not a lot of space for the camera loom to fit into.

Some adaptors are for charging cables and only deal with power. Just need to make sure its power and data. Its not just USB-A to USB-C adaptors. I've got a micro-USB cable that only charges - plug in my Garmin bike computer to my PC and nothing. Grab another cable and all is fine. Same with iphone to USB adaptors since the change from the Lightning connector. Some are just for power and won't work with headphones etc.

For my 2024 I needed the latest HEXV2 26.3 version of VCDS to switch it off

The A/c compressor on your vehicle does not have an electric clutch, but is permanently driven by the aux. belt. There is a mechanical shear-plate connecting the compressor shaft to the pulley, check that it is still connected to the compressor. Yes, VCDS should give you data on the A/C.

I'm finding it a bit of a struggle to understand how a software update can eliminate a transmission noise - has it been explained to you what this noise is?

@Khadar I would return back to the service center if issues occur 900 km after their intervention. They should have done the DSG Adaptation after clutchpack and mechatronic replacement.

£102 is a very fair price It would include new CV boot grease hub bolt and time. Last one I got done at garage was £140. Alasdair

It is 100% seated correctly. Very securely Held by the big springs. Just trim that doesn’t meet up.

What age/model is your car though? Your profile says an Octavia III Scout 2015 which is prior to SFD being introduced. The car u need to reser is a 2014 Octavia mk IV so im not sure if VCDS would work or not.

I took the Kodiaq to an independent garage with a very good reputation and was told it needs a software update by main dealer.

Could the noise be from the clutch slipping - does the Tacho rise in sync with the noise? I assume the 'until late 2013' is a typo and you meant 2023?

Only start/stop cars as far as I know, gearbox irrelevant.

Not so much an upgrade but an enhancement. Dump the OEM shocks and fit decent ones. Just replaced my rears with Bilstein B4 OEM and 034 upper mounts. Took about 3 hours to do the pair (rigid axle) and you can feel and hear the difference. I will (or more get garage to) do the fronts at some point

@Warrior193 Thanks for the suggestion, it worked perfectly. I ended using some picture hanging wire. There was an element of luck with it as the wire had a small sharp bend on the end where it had been previously cut. As I lowered it down the gap it ended up getting caught, and wedged behind the lego. This allowed me to drag the lego up and out of the door.

Well, I haven’t found out why the iPhone wouldn’t reconnect via USB on CarPlay,, I’m assuming some sort of driver issue,, I received a replacement dongle with a different firmware than the previous one ( I think from a different seller, but I’m not sure it’s hard to tell on online nowadays) plug that in phone connected up straight away and it’s all working via Bluetooth

I went down a big pothole and nearly wrote it off , and the dq200 recon box started to leak very slowly again, Had two more repairs, so ive just bought brand new dq200 for £2.6k from skoda preston, will try see if the other one can be fixed, so at least two years warranty on new one.. cars had a tough life.. but still going..
