Average cost to replace brake pads and discs?
It will depend if you go original skoda parts or aftermarket. Did my mk2 octavia for around £70 in parts using apec discs and pads. Its not a VRS so factor a bit more for larger discs. You could put your reg in https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/ and see what price decent disks and pads are. Cant see it taking more than an hour or two labour to change them. Alasdair

Electronic boot struts
Hello, I'm looking for the same thing, when I bought the car the old owner replaced the electric telescopes with classic ones and now I'm looking to replace them with electric ones like the factory car was. I noticed that the OEM ones are very expensive. Maybe we can find some AFM at a reasonable price. Maybe we can get an answer from someone who has already replaced them.

MY17 Superb SLA Headlights Upgrade - Help
Hi JR RS, could you please give more details about this? Is the wiring/pin order in the wiring harness different for B headlights than the A ones? Or are they 100% plug n play?

Wheels and Tyres
I meant to say I run 94v on mine as I used to take a fair load as its an estate. Its not much of an increase (about 50kg per tyre but it helped when car was fully loaded especially at rear. The GT radials are I think classed as comfort tyres and I found them better on rough roads etc. Handling is still pretty good but I wouldn't fit them to a VRS. Alasdair

Front nearside wing replacement Superbb 2017
I have the body repair manual. See the relevant pages below. If you are not confident, I can highly recommend VW Audi workshop in Ipswich, or James (not sure of his company name) in the unit next to hadleigh tyres in Needham market (ex VW Audi workshop manager and mechanic) Or I have tools, blind confidence and don’t mind having a go! I live about 10 minutes from your area!

Wheels and Tyres
I own a 20 plate 1.5tsi Octavia SEL dsg estate, it's my 3rd Octavia. I bought it a year ago, it came with 17s, as standard. I sourced 4 decent used late MK 3 facelift Octavia alloy wheels, fitted those for comfort. I've also fitted 4 all season tyres onto them, too. I see a few positives from this, tyre choice is larger & tyres are cheaper, than the previous 17s. You would also gain on fuel economy, marginally, too. Also comfort levels are marginally better, compared to running with 17s. You will notice a bit of a difference with comfort levels, hitting potholes, but it's not a massive difference, more of a subtle change. I've done this on few other cars, previously, down graded their wheels to gain more comfort. Bit more pothole & kerb resilience, too. I've also stuck with the 91 load ratings for 16s wheels from factory for my car. I'd never fit higher load ratings if not required. I prefer higher spec trims, with lower spec wheels, mainly for comfort, not vanity. I've also informed my insurance, there was no extra charge to my premiums.

Puddle of water appearing on floor near to fos wheel
I know that my old Audi A2s had a plastic coolant 'pipe of death' in front of the bulkhead that would crack over time and leak, but that was not clear coolant ! If it's not air con condensed water, I'm sticking with the washer fluid idea 😁

We went to Nymans, near Haywards Heath, this afternoon. I was watching bees busying themselves, and took this snap, which I quite liked: Gaz

Puddle of water appearing on floor near to fos wheel
Thanks for the ideas. I too thought it might be rainwater and I checked the drain hole on the offside but that was perfectly clear, and the car hasn't been out of the garage in any rain for 4 days. It's not the washer bottle either as I have a washer fluid additive and the water is blue and not clear. Once I find out what it is I shall certainly report back.

big brake kit on skoda scala
Finally upgraded to the front brakes from the Polo GTI AW - Audi A1 Gba 🤘 This was something I should have done a long time ago. However, after going through three sets of brake discs, the same number of sets of pads, and putting the stock setup through some serious punishment on track, I think I finally made the right decision. The car in question is a Skoda Scala 1.0 G-TEC, which comes from the factory with 256 mm front brakes. 🔧 What was needed for the conversion as mentioned by carlston and the other guys here: • Steering knuckles from a Polo GTI AW or Audi A1 2.0 GBA Unfortunately, I couldn't find them anywhere, so I had to order them through official dealership here in Greece. • Brand-new TRW red brake calipers, together with their matching red caliper brackets. • FAG wheel hubs with bearings from an Audi A1 These are 76 mm, instead of the 72 mm units fitted to my model. • Brembo brake discs from an Audi A1. • Ferodo Racing DS2500 brake pads. • Brake dust shields / heat shields. • TRW 23.8 mm brake master cylinder The original master cylinder was 22.2 mm. The high-pressure brake lines remained unchanged. I also replaced the brake fluid with Castrol React SRF. 🏁 And now... time to test it! The installation was completed today, so I will obviously need some time to properly bed in the new discs and pads. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the car behaves with the new setup, especially on track. Considering how much abuse the stock braking system has taken, I'm hoping this will result in a significantly stronger and more consistent braking setup. 🤞

ACC not working
Hi everyone. The driving assist camera (A5) that I had from new originally failed. It was visible in the gateway but showed several errors. I bought a used replacement, had it adapted by a professional company, and it worked flawlessly for a few years until it died too. This time it seemed to be a power supply issue because it was completely dead and not visible in the Gateway at all. I decided to swap the PCB (board) from my first original camera into the housing of the second one. Now the camera is alive and visible again. There are absolutely no errors in module A5. Sign recognition (VIBR) is working fine. Lane Assist can be switched on in the infotainment menu, but it doesn't actually work (it fails to detect lane markings). However, my ACC (Module 13) is now down and throws 3 static U112100 "Data bus missing message" errors that cannot be cleared. What is the next step to get this sorted? Does it need parameterization (dataset/XML), coding, or calibration? Any help would be appreciated.
