There is no REGULAR Servicing scheduled, advised or recommended for a DQ200 DSG which has 2 oils and a tiny filter in the MCU. This is not to say that you can not change both oils, but a main Dealership might not be prepared to, but a Service Desk person might advise it is done and will book it in, and then have no idea of the cost of Servicing a DQ200 DSG. Get done at an Automatic Gearbox specialist if getting done.

Are you UK based? How does your car pass the MOT? No way to pass diesel particulate test unless DPF is in place...

I saw on another group that the OP had put up a photo of the infotainment screen showing his brake lights and indicators glowing on screen. My 2024 Sportline does not show this on the car home page. Is there a way to activate this ?

Its not to do with safety, having the e-sim as you say could help if you have the car stolen, and for the same reason the GPS will help with that, plus as I do if I was to lock the key in the and my wife could not get in the car, I could open it remotely, so the bits you mention are far more use than not having them

Ah Yes! I've litteraly just, (as in yesterday) bought a 2017 1.4 TSI SE L 5dr DSG. The comments you've received so far are excellent.... There are some that I'd add too. Apologies in advance for the war and peace 😂 1st off - Do an HPI, Experian etc check! Visuals: Check all of the panels over. Wings, doors and check the panel gaps etc for paint & possible repairs. Check the sills for dents, (rubbish tyre fitters etc). Check the windscreen - Nice if it has the original Skoda stamped screen with the ticket holder in it. Whilst your're at it check the VIN No in the windscreen from outside nearest the passengers side under the wiper, and check it against the number stamped on the driver's side inner wing, under the bonnet. Check these two against the paper VIN sticker in the boot to the left of the spare wheel, under the carpet. Check spare wheel and tools (if fitted) whilst you're there. Check interior, steering wheel, switches, seats for operation, and wear and tear. Make sure that you turn the aircon on full blast cold then fully up to max heat to make sure all work ok. Check Tyres! Need to have meaty tread of course, plus be reputable brands and ideally all 4 matching... Failing that, matching pairs essential. Keys... 2 or even 3 Keys (ideal), and an owners wallet is important to me.. If it only has one key then cut the price down... Original Owners handbook is important to me, as it has the vehicle VIN on the inside cover. Mechanicals/Electricals: Check engine over. Check condition of oil. Brake fluid is clear. Check that coolant is pink and NOT muddy red. (failed Silikat bag). Ask me how I know? Check if possible exhaust and condition underneath. Check that engine starts up free of all rattling, smoke and check that engine dashboard fault lights are non-existant. Make sure you're happy with how the car drives. When the car gets up to temp, check that Stop/Start works okay.. Watch on the dashboard & observe the gearbox go smoothly through all 7 gears. Have a go in Sport and Manual modes, plus use the steering wheel paddles (if they're fitted). Test reverse, full lock left/right and check park sensors/camera (if fitted). Handbrake, brakes. Check dampers for leaks & that springs look ok - (The amount of times I've seen MOT advisories "Dampers show light misting of oil" or "' Coil spring Spring fractured/broken" on VAG cars)... Check the LED headlights (If you're able to). DSG Gearbox and Timing belt/Water pump changes. Depending on mileage, check to see whether these have been done? If your car is fitted with the 7 Speed Dry Clutch DQ200 DSG box (like mine), then there seems to be a great deal of contention about whether it needs oil change or not? I myself need to read up on this, as I'm still not sure? Paperwork: Check service history thoroughly... Hopefully if it has Dealership (ideal) or registered independent servicing (2nd best). If so, then that work will (should) have been captured online. A 2019 car should have that. Paper invoices always help. The amount of cars I've looked at, advertised as "Full Service History" only to have big chunks missing between services is laughable, but please do keep in mind that if the car is on a 'Long life' Service interval and does low miles annually, then it is possible that the car may not have visited a service centre every single year...Take time to pour over the paperwork and cross check it against the MOTs, and change of ownership etc. As suggested above follow the MOT history to check whether historic issues were/have been addressed, and ask for a car with a short MOT to have a fresh one put on. Sorry for the essay, but throughout my multiple Skoda ownerships I've been caught out on nearly all of the above, mostly through my own ignorance, stupidity, lack of attention/ awareness, but sometimes through seller craftiness. I appreciate that what I've listed may well be overkill, but I'd say that an HPI (or similar) check, plu an MOT history check whist you're having a cuppa can sometimes tell you whether it's even worth going to see a car as the results you get back can sometimes be that obvious. I have a 2019 Škoda Octavia with a Swing LG unit (5E0 035 871 D, HW 690), currently running MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P7381L / MU8740. I tried downloading MU8755 from two different sources, but unfortunately both archives seem to be corrupted/incomplete. Would you possibly be able to share a verified working copy or a reliable download link for MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0080L-MU8755? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!

Sorry - in addition to the above I meant to ask the question if whether or not you tied it down to the air conditioning? I would have thought that after a week of non use there wouldn't be any water. I ask a mechanic today what he thought and he just shrugged his shoulders and said that it could be anything and not to worry. I've just booked it in for a service in a moths with a garage that specialise in Yetis and other Skodas. Hopefully he might come up with something.

Getting the trim panels off and back on again is much easier if you pull the door seals front and rear well out of the way first.

There isn't much. It says the usual stuff - there's disabled everything except the mandatory things and nobody's saying what does include. Basically it can be anything. I'm a bit tired of this nowadays "everything for your safety" thing. Phone that sends information about me, car that does the same etc.

An adventure and learning experience for me in my electric car journey. I took my "Urban" nominal 40 KWh battery to Liverpool on the weekend, 240 mile round trip, fair bit more than the cars WLTP range. Decide to public charge on the way home, despite having had the time to do a bit of a charge on the way up, mistake number 1. Got to Liverpool and still had 80 miles left or reported left, planned to charge at Gridserve Sandbach Services South, somewhere I have successful charged before. Tried several charge bays, half were taken, got one to give me a bit of charge but only got a few KWhs, charge unit reported problem after credit card had been verified. Should have tried again probably. Pushed on to Frankley service South so only 22 miles from home. The Gridserve chargers accepted payment method then just stop before actually commencing charge. Mistake 3 was I should have crossed the car park and gone to the Tesla public charges. I wanted to test the Urban R5 to the limits so cracked on even though car only showing 2% battery which the Urban R5 does 2 miles per 1% of charge. I know my Scenic will do 20 miles past 0% and Bjorn Nyland had done 29 miles in a 52 KWh R5. So carried on down the M5 cruising about 55 mph, some lovely long down hills from the Birmingham plateau down to the Severn Valley floor. Passing Droitwich, turn before Worcester North, the "Restricted Performance" came up. Could start to fell it as I got off at the Worcester turning. Should have turned off at Droitwich really as the 30/ 40 /50 mph back roads would have been better than the 55 mph motorway. Good charging spot in Droitwich at a small Sainsburys /Costa which is "only" 72p which I could have dived in to a few miles from home. So I conked out of power about 500m from home, dead, Xmas tree of warnings though was able to park up safely. walked home, got a home battery and a Granny cable put it in the Mini Cooper E and parked next to the 5 and stuffed some charge in it. Got it home and charged up, no ill effects it seems. Several lessons learned, charge when you can, even if half full, if one is going in to the service station for a comfort break and McDs. Try other charges even if Tesla and you really don't want to give a Musk company money. Check you type pressure and make sure plenty pumped up but not too high. Get off the motorway and drive at 40 rather than 60 as much more efficient for EVs and less likely of a dangerous breakdown. When car says Restricted Performance it is going to stop quite soon. On a positive note my lad took my Scenic to Brighton, near 400 mile round trip. Range at start showing just over 250 miles, did not charge on way down and stopped in the magnificent Gatwick Electric Forecourt on the way back. Dedicated EV charging place 30 odd chargers, Costa etc. Highest possible charge speeds. Half hour stop, time for a hot chocolate and look around, cost 59p per KWh. Car went from 20% to 90% so only a two thirds charge, got home still with 15% ie 40 miles left. I would rather I had problems than my lad so actually an overall useful experience. I now know the limits of the R5 Urban which I would have taken but my lad's need was greater, it would have been fair bit more hassle to take his Mini EV or the R5 Urban than my Scenic which did admirably. Always the thought occurs that should I have got the 52 KWh R5 and /or the 90 Kwh Scenic but for the relatively few long journeys I am quite happy with my choices still. Sadly late Autumn, Winter and Early Spring is ahead and cooler temperatures are ahead which do affect range. I like to change cars quite often and there are a host to look at, the Nissan LEAF 3 which has just been made Auto-Express COTY 2026, a revised R5 with more range. It will be European as I am against Chinese cars and even Korean ones on principal. (Yes Mini is Great Wall Motors but that was not my choice). Been a few negative and cheap charging days in the last month and looking forward to VAT going to 0% in 4 weeks time though I fear for energy prices in general for the state the world is in at the moment.
