Fabia Mk3, MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0460L, ver. 8780 - Success! It worked like a freaking charm. Huge thank you @Zlatko580! And thanks @bigwhale42 for a Linux version (did mine on Mint) Also, photos were really helpful! In my case I didn't need to do factory reset, CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink everything worked from first run after plugging unit back.

Superb 4x4 Rear Steering Knuckle \ Hub Carrier
Hi All Driving over Cairn'o'mount last week the mounting point on my rear left steering knuckle \ hub carrier snapped leaving the trailing arm trailing on the road - literally! Trying to source a new one. 2011 Superb Estate 170 4x4. Apart from £300 for a new one I'm struggling to find cheaper options. Škoda part numbers: 1K0 505 433 1K0 505 435 AD 1K0 505 435 Q Happy to go used too. Is it common to other VAG cars?

High Beam Control (Light Assist)
Yes, it works fine. The manual isn't totally clear. What I've found is that you need to activate it once by pushing the stalk away from you (as if you were selecting high beam on a car without the assist feature). The 'A' symbol then comes up: white when it's on dipped and blue when it's switched to full beam. It you want to override it when it's selected dipped, you can push the stalk away from you a second time, and it will then stay on full indefinitely. You can also pull it towards you for a quick flash of full, as usual. I haven't tried this, but I presume you can override auto full beam by pulling the stalk, as that's what the manual implies.

Screenwash Spray Poor
Hi, Noticed this week one of my screen jets was very weak on my 2016 Superb Saloon, so took it off and blasted it with air to clean. Then noticed both my screen wash jets are very poor. The water tank is full. Could it be pump blocked, feeder pipe blocked? Is it easy to access the water reservoir and pump and how do I access it? Thank in advance Tony

Oil filters
Yup, typically Mahle rebranded to VW Group item at initial engine build and typically only Mann rebranded to VW Group item for service parts. I tend to look for VW Group at sensible prices and also for current Mann prices, and buy which ever is cheapest at the time.

Pulling 6-speed manual transmission?
Apparently my search skills aren't up to par on here, I apologize if this has been mentioned before. I'm in the middle of replacing the pistons on my 1.8 TSI with a 6-speed manual (LHC) transmission. Somehow, I forgot about the need to remove the screws on the seal behind the flywheel, to be able to remove the upper oil tray cover thingy. I'm thinking I'll disconnect the transfer box/bevelbox instead of having to remove subframe and so on. Also, is it really required to disconnect the driveshaft from the box going to the back wheels? I've already pulled the drive shafts and the right side drive shaft flange. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or if you have any tips on resources/videos of just this gearbox? I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

Installation of Dashcam
Guys Today I fitted my dashcam from my previous car to the Karoq. My car has a rain sensor, so I decided to power it using a FitDvr adapter. This piggybacks into the wiring to the sensor and gives switched power, so no parking mode. Dongar also do a fitment for our cars, but were out of stock at the time. I took my time, ensuring proper connection and no damage to mirror shroud. It was dead easy. One thing to note is that the power doesn't switch off until 30s or so after you lock car and comes on when you open the door. For a video, watch FitDvr on YouTube for fitting to an Audi. Hope this helps someone.

Outback going, what next?
On my little A series (it has the current software for touch screen etc) you simply say the word "next track" and it skips. No " hey Mercedes" required. If your car is similar, there are several commands you can use with direct speech too

Outback going, what next?
I had a colleague who had one of these. The engine sounded great and he loved everything about it....except it ate front tyres strangely enough. MB said they often do that. Something to do with the standard alignment (it hopped about at low speed, especially manoeuvring and in cold weather). In the end, he took it to an alignment specialist and they adjusted the car to what they considered a more 'sensible' set up and there was once more peace, in the world.

Tire pressure value can not be seen on central infotainment display
My Skoda Superb also just has the standard screen for the tyre pressure settings. A bit poor really. My 2015 Vauxhall has individual pressure display for each wheel which I woupd argue is a cheaper make of car. Bit disappointed when I first noticed.

Fabia Mk4 130.
The Skoda 'configurator' for UK-specification Fabia cars currently indicates that five brands of tyre (Continental, Goodyear, Kumho, Laufenn, Nexentire) may be factory-fitted depending on the particular model and wheel-diameter that the buyer has chosen. 15" wheels may have Continental, Goodyear or Kumho. 16" wheels may have Goodyear or Nexentire. 17" wheels may have Laufenn or Kumho. 18" wheels will have Laufenn. I'm sure that the contract that the buyer signs will have a clause warning that the vehicle's specification is not set in stone and that the manufacturer has the right to change it. (I was at a Skoda dealership last Wednesday and there was a brand-new 130 in their showroom. The car had Continental tyres...

Very intermittent screeching noise.
Could be the alternator belt as you suspect but flat ribbed ones generally dont screech as much as V belts unless loose/glazed/oil contaminated or perhaps a tensioner/bearing has failed puting it out of alignment. Check the edges for wear and also check tension of belt. Alasdair

waze through bluetooth
As there are no further updates available for the colombus unit in my superb, thought I `d try Waze for the satnav? As far as I can tell phone is set up correctly and paired to the car no issues, but I cannot get any voulme through the car speakers like it`s supposed to do. Anyone had similar issues and know how to get it to work or is my colombus just not compatible? 2014 Lauren +Klement Superb Estate..

Update applications Kamiq
How do you check this max privacy ?
-
Update applications Kamiq
Some applications cannot be updated while you are driving. Try stopping the car, apply the handbrake and see if the app will update with the ignition on but engine off. Also check you are not on max privacy. If it won't then a trip to the dealer my be needed.

Very intermittent screeching noise.
Hello all. I've owned my current Octavia 1.5tsi dsg SEL estate for around 8 months, now. It's on an 20 plate with fssh, 50k from new. I have a very intermittent screeching noise that seems to be coming from the mid to front end of my car. Occasionally occurs, after the car is fully warmed up, with or without the aircon on, only under heavy load or from a hill start, once moving with my foot down a bit. It's a screeching type sound that lasts for around 2 seconds. Not during tick over, but could occur at any speed. Originally I thought it may have been the aircon compressor or compressor pully, but I've now realised that it can occur with the aircon off or on. I dont think its a brake related or wheel related sound. My thoughts, dsg, alternator belt? I don'tthink its at the point where it would be easy to diagnose, as its not constant. I also have a Skoda extended warranty, until Nov, but at this point I don't think I'd waste my money having Skoda look at it, until I was a bit more sure what may be causing it and if it was easily diagnosed/replicated. Any ideas? Thanks.
