Blues radio replacement, plug and play?
OK. Thank you for the information. So easier and propably cheaper would be a standard din1 radio. Are these plug and play, or do I need to buy extra cables or adapters?

Blues radio replacement, plug and play?
Every OEM radio will require coding and component protection removal.

Buying a 2004 Superb ?
I've had mine over 10 years, serviced every year and I'd drive to Scotland tomorrow without hesitation. I'd get the cambelt done if you're going to buy it. Price no idea, it's not really special except to those who know how good that engine is. Mines on 240,000 and still pulls like a train.

Blues radio replacement, plug and play?
My Blues radio broke. It powers on but no sound. If I turn the volume knob display shows volume level 7, but it won’t change. It also recognizes my phone if I plug it in the USB-port, but no sound still. Resetting a few times used to fix this volume problem occasionally, but now it doesn’t help anymore. Can I buy a second hand Blues unit and just swap it or does it need some coding or something? Or can I buy a Din1 adapter and just connect a standard Din1 radio? The car has no steering wheel button or reverse cameras or sensors so a basic radio unit would have all features needed.

Rear propshaft coupling
They usually start to go at around 70k miles from my experience and the tell tale sign seems to be a heavy vibration from the rear under load at about 2300rpm, heard more in higher gears.

Skoda Octavia mk3 fl cornering light coding
Picking up on this prior thread - My April 2020 (last of the MkIII Facelift) Scout, with full LED package, has cornering lights on by default. I sometimes would like the cornering lights to come on earlier in a turn; as configured from the factory, the cornering lights don't seem to turn on unless the steering wheel is rotated quite far from centre. In the screenshots above, I notice fields: Lenkradwinkel, offset (Steering wheel angle, offset): 0.3° Unterer Lenkradwinkel (Lower steering wheel angle) 40° Oberer Lenkradwinkel (Upper steering wheel angle) 65° Do these control when corner lights turn on and off? Are they configurable? Any warnings about setting them too low/high? thank you,

Rear propshaft coupling
Hi, What kind of play should be checked? Is it rotational or axial? How many km on the clock BTW? Thanks! 😉

Rear propshaft coupling
Not a term I’ve heard for a while! Propshaft donut was always a thing on E36 BMWs. Soft sink when engaging reverse to remind you it was there. Good tip though - cheers Mario.

Buying a 2004 Superb ?
If the paint, body and interior are all in good condition it should certainly be worth considering. If you're doing the maintenance and servicing yourself there shouldn't be any seriously surprising jobs. What do the MOT advisories say? You can unclip the upper cover for the timing belt to visually inspect it. These cars can last a very long time if looked after properly. From your description it sounds like a sensible investment. As for price, I've no idea!

Octy MK3 1.6 TDI Rear coolant pipe
Hi all, Bit of advice needed re the rear coolant pipe (I think p/n 04L121065CR on the CXXB engine), the one that exits the pump horizontally not vertically, then snakes up the back of the engine to two rubber hoses. Reading the service manual, it appears to be a fairly easy job to replace (compared to that of the right rear hose which needs half the car disassembled). Luckily it would appear although both pipes of mine are corroded, only the rear one is currently leaking. Has anyone undertaken this job and are there any tips? The garage I went to said they may have to drop the subframe to get to both, but the service manual doesn't seem to suggest that just for the rear one. Cheers!

Rare 1.8TFSI L&K Paint and bodywork correction
I got a compressor unexpectedly from family who are incapable of using it now I need to learn how to paint better but even at a novice try I much prefer the slower and more controlled delivery via a compressor to aerosols, that just want to blat out the contents of the can instantly. At least you can work out the variables and I can play about in future. Also got some much paint for so little money as you do when dealing with proper compressor setup, you are literally setup for multiple repairs or attempts. Although this is a far from perfect, perfect from afar initial effort I think this is pretty reasonable to just roll about in for now. If I need to get the paint refinished in these areas I can always invoke a pro, but already done a lot of the groundwork smoothing where it had the itty bitty bumper tap ( but enough to leave history annoyingly, when he was driving the car ). Modestly happy that this looks somewhat better than it did.

Rear propshaft coupling
For all the Skodians with 4 wheel drive cars, get your propshaft coupling aka doughnuts checked. My car went for quick oil change on Saturday and my mechanic mentioned that the rubber around the coupling is well perished and has a bit of play in it. Apparently common thing on Haldex equipped cars and if left for too long it can cause damage to rear diff... Skoda genuine part is not exactly cheap at £600 but there are cheaper alternatives

Recommended Android music/SatNav unit to replace Columbus
Joy_atende eBay I got a second hand Columbus off this chap from eBay when my unit died. He has several units. Although all dearer than the one I had off him for £200. It was mint and fully working and fully updated with pass code. Was about the same price as wire and postage for my broken one. Maybe check what he’s got.

waze through bluetooth
I’ve can confirm on my superb the following. I have a later blue tooth box under my car seat that accepts modern iPhone phones and stereo streaming from phone. I use an iPhone mini 13. When paired that button is always available. It pairs as soon as ignition is on. If the media is selected to Bluetooth then I get Waze through the car speakers. And or music being streamed. Google Maps rings my phone via the car phone the telephone number pops up, my own, and the instructions comes through the car speakers. It answers the call automatically. Exciting stuff ;) but weird it calling me all the time

Timing of transition/implementation of the EU driver assist regs for different Skoda models
One of the more frustrating things about homologation, is that whilst the regulations use very specific terms, the car manufacturers then use their own terms to describe the same things, so unless you know what they mean in their own "brochure language", it doesn't help much! The Certificate of Conformity will be the definitive document. They're legally obliged to supply one with each car. It just looks like a really boring single sheet of A4.

Skoda Finance Redemption
I withdrew from my Škoda finance agreement last year after 11 days (within the 14 day period) on a 3 month old used Karoq I had to pay £72.38 interest ( £6.58 per day) but retained all the incentives that were given at that time, £250 Škoda Contribution, 2 years roadside assistance and two services.

Karoq gearbox doesn't creep?
Firstly which version if the DSG gearbox do you have? DQ200 dry clutch used with 1.0 TSI engine, 1.5 TSI 2wd and possibly the 2wd diesel Karoqs. DQ381 wet clutch used in all 4x4 Karoqs. Auto hold will have an affect as has been mentioned already. I have a wet clutch DSG 4x4 Karoq and a Fabia with the dry clutch DSG. So taking the wet clutch DSG first with auto hold on, gears ca. only be selected with the foot brake pressed, selecting D or R taking the right foot off the brake pedal and without touching the throttle the car should creep either forwards or back, if you are in a slope it might take fractionally longer before it moves. The wet clutch DSG can slip the clutch without overheating because the clutch plates are cooled by the gearbox oil. Sometimes a light tap on throttle is needed to release Auto hold. With auto hold on there is no need to either apply or release the parking brake manually it is released by tapping the throttle and applied automatically when the engine is switched off. The dry clutch DSG operates in the same way but I find it’s a little slower to start creeping. There are a few situations when auto hold has to be turned off and sometimes left foot braking is needed to make progress- I don’t recommend left foot braking. In the 13 years I’ve been driving DSG cars there most awkward situations were trying to creep out into traffic with severe limited view to the right, a car appears to press the brake pedal and then that car stops to let you out and either hill hold if auto hold has to be released before you can move. Reversing up hill is another that can be awkward if you need throttle to overcome the slope. I find with both the Fabia dry clutch and Karoq wet clutch I can use creep without throttle 99% of the time and use the foot brake to control speed. The trick is to use very light foot brake pressure. If you are still finding it difficult then if could be the DSG clutch biting points need to be “relearnt”. I had this done on the Fabia by an independent DSG specialist. Before it was done the Fabia wouldn’t creep without throttle but thd clutches kept engaging and disengaging unpredictably - took 15 minutes cost £160 and absolutely transformed the car. Hope this helps.

protective case for Octavia III 'Kessy' key fob?
This is quite a bit longer than my Octavia's key fob, but more importantly I really want the case to be rigid. It's remarkable that VW doesn't provide a slide cover for the fobs. (Neither has any other manufacturer whose fobs I've ever seen).

protective case for Octavia III 'Kessy' key fob?
This is where I ended up looking, too; of course, I can't find on Amazon a plastic box that is almost exactly the size of the key fob, and as much as my purse is something of a bottomless pit, it doesn't have huge amounts of extra room. I'll keep looking.

Good evening all, Could someone assist please? Just brought a 2018 Karoq and the DAB doesn't find any radio stations. Have tried a reset which has not helped. Been told I may need to update the system to make it work. Is anyone able to help? Images attached of system information. Thanks in advance.
