  2. The app mystery is solved... my wife is the Primary User, and her MySkoda App does have the "Paid services", but I as a guest user don't. However Traffication is listed in red as "Expired February 2026" with an option to resubscribe for £4.50. The next check will be to see if the App screen has more on it if I open the car with her key and make sure she is the active user... best, M.
  3. Sure. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those. I'll try replacing the USB port with the 5Q0035726E, along with the cables. According to reviews, the M version didn't work with the iPhone. One of the phones also displayed a slow charging warning (Nothing Phone 2A). If I can't fix it myself, I'll have someone else diagnose it.
  4. Holy thread ressurrection @Jimmeth - I think you posted in the wrong thread!
  5. Relatives stay in Drumnadrochit, high up overlooking the loch. That would have been a good drive back.
  6. In March, my local independent was £65 + vat, so £78. Henrys, my Skoda dealer was £75. They got the job, no other work at that time.
  7. ODIS, VCDS, OBDeleven... You can write original .bin but it would be very very weird if that causes problem with usb. I never heard of that kind of problem after activation fec. EDIT: Maybe you just didn't pluged in HSD cable connectotr properly in the unit when you put back unit in car after activation?
  8. No, this is not scaremongering...this is a real and present danger which I have already flagged up and shows how politicians, both local and national, should NOT get involved in things that they have zero knowledge of, including balcony solar. There are NO early warnings with electricity; once a real-life danger situation has occurred, it is only discovered by people/animals coming into contact with it, which may be the last thing that they do ⚠️. We all accept that it is dangerous to install a socket next to a sink or in a bathroom, and yet some people are prepared to risk lifes by onstreet charging from their own home electric supply. What they do not understand is the dangers of different circuits being connected to different earthing bonds etc. There is a very good reason why all extraneous metalwork in a building has to be bonded together, and this is it.
  9. All factory settings were restored as a precautionary measure upon first startup after activation. Hard resetting the unit didn't help. What diagnostic tools are you talking about? Maybe I should try uploading the original .bin file back?
  10. If the electrics haven't been too molested I'd go for the 2019 car. It'll have been regularly serviced and the mileage will be low enough such that there are unlikely to be issues such as prop shaft doughnuts on the way out etc.
  11. Buying it but really giving money to charity and getting the car because he was so generous.
  12. Has the DSG had an oil and filter change yet?
  13. Today
  14. We need to know what system you have. I can't remember how to bring up the system info.
  15. Strange, I have the same version of the app (on the iPhone). Here’s a screenshot
  16. First time ŠKODA owner here. Went all the way to Colchester from our home by Loch Ness to pick up a Octavia diesel estate which was pre registered with 31 miles on it. It had the premium winter pack which I really wanted as handy up here in the cold weather. Hope to get a few tips on getting the most out of the car. First impressions are really good. Great quality and drives really well and averaging almost 70 mpg on a run. Martin 👍🏻
  17. I have noticed when moving slowly or coming to a stop i can hear in the background the DSG slightly noisey. Best way i can describe it is like a bearing graunchy dry loose worn cogs kinda sounds. It’s quite low but i notice it and it’s annoying. I feel like i’m driving an old car. Is this normal? The car has done 67k miles.

  19. It is not common problem, try hard reset of multimedia with long press power button until logo show up. If still not working, try reset to factory settings whole unit. And last step would be to check with diagnostic tool for faults or posssible wrong coding/adaptations.
  20. Hi again! Just letting you know I ordered a part corresponding with 6Q1 423 893M and 6Q1 423 893H and it worked out. It was 16mm. Thanks for your help Pete
  21. Well he looks a complete **** and exactly the sort of person I thought might be stupid enough to have bought it... 🤣
  22. Could you manage to solve the issue at the end? Just asking as I have the same issue after 200k and bought a really cheap one from Autodoc and after fitting it the problem constantly comes up at every start and never goes away. Thinking of getting the pricier one (grey one what it originally had) if that'd make any difference. Thank you
  23. Hi Is it possible that I've disabled the USB read function? At first, I thought I was using the wrong USB cable after the activation process, and I tried about 10 of them and two phones - neither the radio recognized the phones nor the phone recognized the radio. I dug into the USB port and checked its number: 5Q0 035 726 M (black port) - it should support Android Auto. Then I decided to connect a USB flash drive - the radio doesn't recognize it :/ It worked before - I changed the station logos to color ones. Skoda Rapid 2017 Radio number: 5JA 035 871 C MIB: MEN2_EU_SKGPX_P7130L

  25. Left foot braking is disengaging drive. Well not for me as i have only a left foot so it works the accelerator or brake pedal but not both at once and for 17 years of driving DSG,s using one foot and D, S or R i have never had issues parking or have a vehicle creep.
  26. 2016 Fabia Monte Carlo here. I had this issue on both windows after picking it up new a month or so ago. Tried lubing up the weatherstrips as recommended here with not much luck. After looking a little more into them I saw that one of the weatherstrips had folded over about half way along and was rubbing, causing some noise. Pulling it back into place fixed that side thank god. The other window had the noise coming from from somewhere else, deeper in the door, so I had the door card off to see what was what. In the end, it sounded like the noise was coming from the front rail of the window regulator. The fix I found was to get in through one of the bung holes inline with the regulator rail and spread (admittedly a little too much) red grease on the rail and slider, running it up and down 10-15 times. It's not come back yet, so knock on wood I think that's fixed it.
  27. I came across this before in my son in laws vw caddy. Never seen one before. It disables the cars rear fog light and also the rear parking sensors plus a few other things to do with stability control. You can get a 13 pin socket with microswitch. Alasdair

  29. Lots of things last longer than five years.
  30. Welcome to the forum. As glowplug number three is the only one incorporating a pressure sensor, that does stand out. Were you able to read absolute boost pressure?
