  2. & maybe £150 plus to diagnose and not omit this if you agreed to have them do the job. Some like Park Skoda Hamilton even farm the work out to an independent because they employ incompetents. Not even all the gear but certainly no idea.
  3. That does sound like an issue with the PCV. The differences are subtle but the membranes are different, the OEM one is a 2 piece the aftermarket is a one piece and just doesnt feel very "nice" hard to explain. Also the circumference of the plastic PCV "cap" differs hence why I cannot use the PCV valve I bought as its designed for an OEM rocker. I am seeing some residue and have high oil consumption so I am going to swap the rocker. I have ordered an OEM rocker cover as I prefer genuine stuff for things like this as I tend to find aftermarket parts are just not as good or reliable. I do think I am getting blow by and I do suspect its the rings but I know that can be exaggerated by a PCV issue so just fixing things one at a time to see if I can get it to a reasonable level of oil loss. TBH I am looking at second hand engines and then considering stripping it right down and rebuilding it myself with all new parts, would be a good opportunity to do a bit of a horse power increase as well.
  4. Thanks for the reply. Do you have any pictures of the original and aftermarket PCVs? Do you mean the membrane inside the cover, in the right corner behind injector #4. I had a leaking rocker cover last year that I fixed with a new aftermarket one purchased from skoda-parts, i think it was AIC-brand. The price difference versus a new original one was atleast two times cheaper. When compared side by side it felt good quality. Didn't check the condition of the PCV-membrane from neither rocker cover. I stashed the original rocker cover if i happen to need it for some reason, there wasnt any cracks or deformations that i could see, maybe the seals had lost their elasticity over the years (11 at the time of removal). What i am seeing is that after hard driving i can see some fine oil mist residues around the injector well oil seals on top of the rocker cover, and im almost certain it is motor oil not diesel fuel coming from the injector fuel line pipes. Makes me think that maybe the aftermarket rocker cover doesnt have same quality seals that the original factory one had. Thinking of trying to reseal the cover with new original quality seals or reseal the original rocker cover and put it back in place. Should also check the PCVs condition from both covers. Any ideas?

  6. I think the Jag might be a grower. I'd like to see it in a normal paint scheme. The satin finish is impossible to maintain
  7. I have had the fluid changed twice. Just not this time. Agreed I will look for a specialist. The dealer will probably just change the MCU or gearbox or both!
  8. Any new firmware for my Swing? IMG_0349.HEIC

  11. Morning all wise people. Dilemma time. Been running a 2015 L&K 2.0 estate superb for coming on 2 years. Got as a stop gap but love the car and has been brilliant so kept it. It’s now done 280k miles but is virtually perfect …apart from DMF starting to go. Do we think it would be pointless to change the DMF and clutch only for something else to go in another 10k miles. Local garage who is use for other cars has quoted about £1200. Alternatively I’ve seen a kit with clutch for around £400 with a discount. Is it insane to try and do this on the drive? Other alternative if can get the kit cheaply is anyone likely to fit a f and clutch kit I’ve purchased ? Thanks for any advise in advance!

  13. Did you try it in S? No way would I go to a Skoda Dealer with a DSG issue. An Automatic Gearbox Specialist is what is needed. And one that does DSG,s. & Brake fluid does need changed sometime in 8 years especially with low miles. I hope it had been done at some point.
  14. Turns out I have an aftermarket rocker cover on my car so I will end up replacing the whole cover to see if that helps. The PCV I took out was different to the OEM one and the rubber didnt feel great, it was quite stiff but was intact to hard to say if that is part of the issue or not.
  15. @Toothache it's still working fine 🤞🏻 probably done 6k miles on it, varied mileage, as far as calibration, I just cleared the faults with OBD11. It's since been serviced/MOT'd at my trusted garage - no issues. The hardest part is access especially if you have fists of ham and thumbs of butter like me.
  16. Can I ask - I'm on 0276 and I have the daily "update" message that apparently needs a FW update to be carried out. Reading this thread, it seems that if I update it manually, some other things will break and I can't fix them? Is that correct, or is there a full fix now? Thanks.
  17. Long Story short, it was just the app N7 Player.
  18. Thank you for the feedback. I would also like to add that MEN2_EU_VWGPx_P0180L on a VW Polo 2021 is also not working.
  19. just to confirm not working on MEN2_EU_VWGPx_P9200L Tiguan 2019 Regards
  20. It wasn't before I uprated it. Back to the drawing board, as I still feel something isn't working correctly
  21. The box has never been serviced. I don’t think I’ve ever been asked. I refused the brake fluid and aircon clean this time. I’m really puzzled. I’d like to find out what the problem is before I send it to the dealer.
  22. The recommended plugs are Champion CH700 but are there other preferences used by owners please?

  24. Funny enough, ours has been behaving itself for the last year or so, but it's just started playing up again this last week!
  25. It's 1.9D, right? Those use different heating from Favorit, so I'm not familiar with it. But you should be able to locate the resistor pack in the engine bay, following wires from the motor. There are two bimetal contacts that appear to short the resistors if they overheat. It's possible that the one for 1st speed got stuck.
  26. Hi lee, no maps on screen, mph as numbers and a rev counter plus additional vehicle information you can select.
  27. Hi Derek. Thanks for the videos and information really helpful. I test drove the car yesterday it has the Digital cockpit which displays speed as number's and a rev counter above in a line or circular around mph number which works well, i pick the car up monday. Regards robsie
  28. This 2022 Fabia-related video may also be of interest as it shows a variety of different Virtual Cockpit displays.
  29. OK, no worries. Thanks for responding 👍
  30. Unfortunately I don't have it, 0359 is the most current firmware I have
  31. It’s better but still not great, changing the PCV today to see if that helps.
