EPC LIGHT 5.5K REVS
Probably not applicable in OPs case, but according to some online research, apparently EA888 G3B (2019 on) engines can have 'AVS' which is a dual-lobe cam on inlet or outlet valves, with some versions closing valves completely on light load - the reference was to Audi TFSI, but I wonder if it's in wider VAG use.

Chime after locking and unlocking car
Hi Guys, Everytime I lock or unlock my car this chime IMG_5148.movsounds and not sure what it is. Nothing is left on lights etc. I have problems with battery drainage after 3/4 days of no use so thinking it could be something to do with that maybe.

Surprisingly enough my engine has that code (being the EA888.3) If you don't have experience with that code on these engines it could be something more specific in the system (just a thought of course)

Octavia Mk3 Screen Retrofit
Hi everyone, I am wondering whether this upgrade path is possible. I have a pre-facelift MK3 Octavia VRS with the MIB2 High glovebox unit (2 SD cards and internal SSD jukebox function). I currently have the 8" matte screen with physical buttons in the first picture, I'm wondering if the 8" glass screen in the second picture will work? Or even the 9.2 which I think is MIB 2.5? 5E0919606 is my current part and 5E0919605M is the new one. I apologise if I missed anything, thanks!π

Perhaps consider fitting a bigger aftermarket footrest for left foot?

Thank you for this. My wife is now trying to stop 'riding' the clutch. Hopefully it won't need another new clutch in another 30,000 miles!

New Fabia Design DSG about to be delivered...
Our new Fabia Design Auto is being delivered shortly. We have previously owned a Citygo and Yeti so know Skodas fairly well but wondering if there is anything we should be aware of or any useful hints and tips. Thank you. The new car will be blue so I guess my profile name is now rather misleading

Google Maps etc. in Virtual Cockpit
That's standard in my 2023 SEAT Ateca by pressing the 'View' button on the MFSW. TBH though I find it distracting and see no practical reason for it.

Google Maps etc. in Virtual Cockpit
Unfortunately, in the free version, the navigation is not centered, which means it can only be used with one View layout. The paid version is practically impossible to purchase, as the author doesnβt respond. I think there will be more updates from other developers soon, along with support for other units.

Round trip Calais to Prague - any tips?
Belated reply here (I haven't been on Briskoda for a while) so maybe too late now but here's my 2p worth. I haven't been to Prague but I drive to Germany regularly, closest I have been to Prague is Regensburg. Overall I would recommend driving through Belgium and Germany as opposed to France (apart from obviously the A16 from Calais to the Belgian border) as you will avoid any tolls. Fuel is also cheaper in Belgium than France & Germany though Germany has recently implemented something like a 17 cent duty/VAT cut so the gap would be less now. If you do go through France I've always found the A26 from Calais to be a superb road with very little traffic, enjoy it! Obviously I'm not sure how much continental driving you have done but avoid German motorway services for fuel as much as possible as the prices are pretty wild. Look out for an 'Autohof' instead which are service areas just off the motorway where fuel is priced at more normal levels. There are normally plenty of them. Motorway services in Belgium don't tend to have the same premium as the fuel price is capped. In terms of places to stop off, obviously it depends on your interests but a few places I have been to that wouldn't be too far off route are: Bruges Ghent Monschau Koblenz Regensburg

Something doesn't look right to me - the Octavia vRS has a 2.0L EA888 engine which doesn't (AFAIK) have cylinder disabling (only the 1.5L EA211 has cylinder disabling)?

Reversing Camera Retrofit
Hi everyone, Quick question. I'm looking into retrofiting reverse camera into my friends Octavia MK3 2014 with J794 - 5E0 035 864 A, I know it's possible somehow but not sure how exactly. I've spent quite a lot of time at this point just browsing the web and looking for right parts and OEM solutions which doesnt require stupid adapters etc etc. I came to quite a lot of version of camera as well as the harnesses but I'm quite short of many info. I can't find the official wiring diagraam as well as the manuals of the how to dismantle the ineterior parts or the official designated routes for the cabels. I did couple of retrofits mostly on my Audi A4 B9.5 2020 so I'm quite familiar with the whole VW group stupidity of making things harder for everyone. I had to check the correct wiring harness so I wont't be required to buy different cable adapters it was plug code and play. I would like to do it the same way for his car. Can someone suggest maybe the camera with right harness for that unit maybe wiring diagrams on car manuals which would help. I'm open to any suggestions and info anyone can give. Thanks everyone for reply and their time.

EPC LIGHT 5.5K REVS
Hi Guys new to the form really happy to be here! 2015 Skoda Octavia Vrs 230K Kilometers There is an issue i've been having for quite some time which I believe I know the fix for except I'm not 100% sure as it requires a lot of time and money that unfortunately I do not have due to work and other commitments. To mention before asking I have: Brand new spark plugs Newish (10k) Coil Packs New Fuel Injectors Carbon Cleaned Intake Valves Stage 1 Racingline High Torque Tune Brand New Single Mass flywheel clutch Full Racingline Intake System New PCV System + Piping New Sump With that out the way I have been getting a code where everytime i go above 5-5.5k revs my car throws an EPC light code. Turn the car off and it disappears completely and the car acts like complete normal again but does newly display OBD Codes P130A00 CYLINDER DISABLING - ELECTRICAL FAULT IN CIRCUIT P030400 CYLINDER 4: MISFIRE DETECTED Now as you can tell almost everything that usually is the reason of problem has been done which to be fair all needed to be done anyway. But now my suspicions look towards something else being the Valve Springs. My Specialist Mechanic which recently did my car with a few upgrades (plus a lovely $6000 bill) didn't think it was that and replaced the Spark Plugs. Just wondering is there anything else that could be the issue? I'm a bit lost at the moment and would rather get some other opinions before opening up the top end

Aftermarket infotainment system
Yes, the both dives prices is almost equivalent, but most older the OEM and used. Only used OEM price is equivalnet with the new aftermarket infoatinment. The warranty is 6 month and zero product support (but itβs only available for a fee). So far, I've been looking at Dynavin.

So good
