Hi, I’m Paul. I have just bought a 2020 Fabia colour match in race blue. I thought I would join to help me learn about the car and get help from the online community. Hopefully I’ll be able to help too… we have a few VAG vehicles in the family! I came here to find out about a few little niggles that I want to sort out and also to ask a few questions and see what mods some of you have done to improve performance and looks.

Hi there, I have just bought a second hand elroq 85 sportline. So far so good, very pleased. One issue. I can't find out how to disable the alert warnings for speed cameras and traffic queues. I am in the UK and driving down the M6 and M5 yesterday I nearly went mad. Any idea please gratefully received. I've looked online but not found the solution yet.

Note: this requires the deeper style airbag (with the crease all the way round) Non- heated, phone button, DSG paddles. £150 in good condition with one little scuff. Origianlly from Karoq but will also fit Octavia, Superb (should fit all MQB platform)

Off to the British MotoGP on Sunday. Crowds will be a fraction of F1 unlike other meets where bikes exceed car crowds. Yamaha gave me 20% discount. Looking forward to the 850 cc Pirelli era next year.

Dunno? It's only done 72,500 miles and the bearing itself was absolutely fine. No roughness or play. The ring doesn't appear to be bonded to the bearing in any way at all. It's just held there by its own magnetism. I can peel it off and stick it back on anywhere. No evidence of any kind of adhesive behind it? I'm hoping VW have done their sums properly on the three screw fixing. just intuitively, it doesn't look like a bad arrangement. There's a spigot on the bearing housing that locates into the upright. I imagine that and the friction from the tightening torque, will take most of the load, rather than the screws themselves?

Another query along same lines - is a dsg diesel skoda better or worse for towing than a std manual diesel ?

Yes, ticking time bombs, they will consume the wheel sensors though while breaking up. The wheel sensor ring is a series of small magnets, so the sensor reads them as pulses as it is a Hall Effect sensor. Edit:- I blamed the failure of the RHS front one on my 2011 Audi S4 on the fact that the bearing was not "handing out" any oil/grease to that area so rusting was to blame, in your case it looks like it is a crap bearing manufacture that is to blame as there is very little sign of serious corrosion - and so that maybe bonded on, series of potted magnets, has started to de-bond from the inner face of the bearing and end up lifting up into the path of the stationary ABS sensor "arm". I'm surprised that a car of this size has just the smaller version of wheel bearing, ie the 3 screw fixing version - maybe that's "progress".

As previously mentioned, unzip the files and you will have 2 folders and the info file. On GPSpower.net you will find the latest version of maps, version 450. Click the link for Columbus and install after unzipping of course. Speed camera files can also be downloaded from there or on Briskoda. Not forgetting Radio station image files too. For Firmware there is a very good guide in this very forum under "guides".

Replaced original wheel without DSG paddles today. I hardly used them and I would rather a proper fitting airbag!

^^^ No you need to have them fitted. I broke the valve top off of one on my EV, not a Skoda, i got a repair valve and it coded it,s self and then the sensor stopped working. For the MOT in the UK this month none of my pals could code it, so i went to Halfords Tyre Centre who take £100 to fit a new one. The MOT station i am going to is charging £80 to fit one before the test. You have to be extra careful when you have the TPMS Sensors / Valves fitted, i broke one once before on a BMW and it was £150 to replace.

That would work (if it isn't faulty), but up and down would be reversed relative to switch movements. Can be swapped back by rotating the metal motor housing 180°.

Changed the front brake discs and pads this morning to try and finally cure the brake wobble. Seems ok so far but let’s give it 200 miles or so to reappear like it did before. All went without drama using the excellent @Bap33 guide Here. I also swapped back to my standard wheel without paddles. For the small amount of instances that I used the paddles I would rather have an airbag that fits properly!

No, they're different fasteners. There are three smaller screws that hold the bearing pack to the aluminium upright. Those are "a" - the "70 Nm plus 90 degrees" ones. Then there's the big M16 x 1.5mm screw that goes through the wheelbearing and into the end of the driveshaft. That's "b" - the "200 Nm plus 180 degrees" one. To be honest, both felt "about right" when I was tightening them.

@dejvic when the unit works, are you able to modify sound level from steering wheel? Are the buttons illuminated when you turn the lights on? @olnime you have download link in PM

@Breezy_Pete I read after you mentioned. But there is no sensor which send info to car's system.

Wheel alignment was a long way out, may explain tyre wear. Replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1, will see how they get on.
