On the pre-FL cars there is physical switch beneath the Infotainment screen to turn on/off the Park Assist screen. Tap that (if the FL cars have it) and your Nav screen should come back.

Thanks Alasdair. We've done the lubricant of the linkages just now and we'll see how it goes. When the issue occurs the clutch pedal comes back up my itself - certainly doesn't need to be lifted. It's a tricky little issue this as it only done it intermittently - half a dozen times over the summer. Thanks again - I'll keep this post going whatever happens, as it may help others.

Its not one of them. Usually, settings that are reset each startup are those that have to do with some sort of compliance - either emissions or safety.

I've a similar anomaly just outside the village of Edingley in Nottinghamshire, for several years a short open stretch (500yds) of country lane (60mph) pings 30mph on the dash, but not on Waze. I've slowed to have a good look around to see if there's anything amiss causing the anomaly, but no, nothing. I've even been on the Skoda mapping site but it correctly shows 60mph. Now, this last week, the stretch has somehow managed to reduce itself to an imaginary 20mph.......weird.

My 1.5 TSI SEL FE estate came fitted with Michelin Primacy 4 (205/55-17), changed them at 45,000 miles (a tad early because I was heading off fully loaded on a two month European road trip). Anyway, to answer your question, my go to tyres are now Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance. By comparison to the Primacy 4 I feel they are quieter, give a more supple ride, plenty of grip, feel more sure footed under heavy braking, and I reckon about 5-8% better fuel economy. Current set have covered 35,000 miles and I reckon a good 15-20k left (near as damn-it 5mm left). OK, they probably come in the premium tyre category but I think they're worth it. Just checked my preferred, local-ish, tyre fitter and they're lower price than some tyres in the mid-range brands (Falken, Toyo). As a slight aside, I also fitted these on my previous Mk2 Superb; similar gains (especially the ride and economy) over the previous Continental PremiumContact on it previously.

thanks good to hear and I'm hoping it's the same for the FL. one thing I do note is the number of settings that can be changed but then reset when you restart the vehicle - hopefully this isn't one of them! makes me consider some VCDS changes....

In the preFL, there's an option to turn park assist automatically when coming near objects at slow speed. This is turned on by default. I don't know the exact menu in the FL version, as the infotainment system is not the same, however I think there must be an option to disable it coming on automatically.

I appreciate that the question has been answered time and time again, but so many conflicting answers. Need to replace the factory-fitted tyres on my January 2021 Octavia Estate 1.5TSI SEL First Edition after a very respectable 51,000 miles. Do a combination of urban driving, but regularly do 500 mile round trips of motorway driving. Live in the South of England, so we don't really get much snow. Driving style is sensible rather than sporty. What do people recommend where the priorities, in order, are grip, fuel efficiency, longevity, and noise levels? Mid-range, known tyre brand preferable but open to suggestions. Contenders seems to be Michelin Primacy 5 (Longevity looks to be good) Goodyear Efficient Grip (Not sure which version) Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, Time for a quick update on my Superb after a bit of an absence... Mod-wise, not much has changed since my last posts. After going back to the OEM engine mounts and reinstalling the factory exhaust tips, I haven’t done any further tweaks. The car went right back to being the absolute perfect sleeper. Maintenance has remained top-notch: I’ve changed the oil every single year despite doing very low mileage, and replaced the spark plugs every two years. It has exclusively been run on premium fuel (98-100 octane), and I’ve always added a bottle of octane booster at every fill-up just to keep it around 102-103 octane in the tank and ensure the injectors stay in perfect health. It has been 100% bulletproof—never a single issue. The only minor thing worth mentioning is that the rear brakes have recently started making a sound similar to worn-out pads. However, both the discs and pads are actually in great condition; it's simply due to the car sitting parked up for most of the year. Despite the noise, they still work perfectly fine. I am pretty sure it can be easily sorted out by just taking the car out for a proper spirited drive for a few dozen kilometers and doing some heavy braking to clean them up. Unfortunately, precisely because I rarely get to drive it anymore, I have made the very difficult and bittersweet decision to put the Superb up for sale. To close this chapter, I want to leave a sort of "message in a bottle": I will be passing this thread's URL over to the next owner, and I warmly invite them to jump in, take over the thread, and keep updating you all on the future adventures of this amazing car. If fluid was low and disenaging clutch and re engaging helps with gear changes it might be a leaking master/slave cylinder or the seals on either are going and allowing fluid to pass them when engaging clutch so clutch isnt engaging fully. Monitor fluid level and check at base of Gearbox/engine join for signs of fluid. The master on my octavia failed but the fluid ended up on undertray. It could also be the gear linkages need lubricated as you said and also might be worth resetting cables. As its had a fluid change and no improvement I assume theres no air in clutch system. Meant to ask did the clutch pedal come back up on its own or did it need lifted with toes. Alasdair

Hi All, Something I find most frustrating is pulling up to any junction or stationery traffic the park assist screen insists on appearing and remains until I pull away. Annoying when you've got the nav running and somewhere new and need to see where you're going (I know you can see the high level in the dash but the wider view for me is preferred!). I've scoured all the options turning things on/off to see what changes but cannot find an appropriate option. Does anyone else have this and/or know how to resolve? Previous models/vehicles I'd only expect to see when engaging reverse. I've never used the optional parking assist (I didn't spec the car) but surely you can just hit the parking button to engage when required... Hoping someone can confirm this. Model is 2025 vrs Thanks

Carlinkit's adapters are very good. I am using it (mini ultra 3). It is almost as good as using it with cable. Most importanlty no delay while listening songs. Sometimes while playing songs it can glitch for 1 milisecond and after that it continues normally. Glitch happends rarely. If I was in your shoes I would first try with some better cable, like Samsung's original, if that doesn't help then I would continue with other methods. Good luck.

I had read that they were problematic but considering I'm only looking for android auto have gone for the latest Motorola one from Amazon. I like that it has a physical power button and fast switching between phones. Good suggestion.

My son has a 2013 Octavia 3 purchased from a dealer about 11 months ago. The dealer has proved deeply untrustworthy and has lied about many things. That’s another story. In spite of this the car has mostly performed ok. However, with MoT looming he’s mentioned again that the check engine light is on. Code is PO401, insufficient EGR flow. Car drives fine so I’m suspecting that the EGR filter in the LP circuit is blocked. This in turn likely means that the the DPF is cracked - a theory supported by the sooty tailpipe 🙁 We could clean or replace the filter pipe, which will probably keep the light off briefly (until it clogs again), but this is probably pointless as even if the MoT tester doesn’t spot the sooty tailpipe, the machine will spot excessive particulates? Anyone else travelled this way? I’m thinking aftermarket DPF replacement and a through washout of the filter pipe is the budget option. Looks like genuine parts exceed the value of the car even before fitting! Thanks Nick

I sometimes get this when on the A303 heading east coming to the Sparkford turnoff, it ' sees ' the 40MPH sign sometimes , especially if I'm in the overtaking lane ! I just carry on and reset the ACC and it recovers about a mile further on.

@red-ireland friend of mine had similar problem. Then he tried with higher quality cable and there was no more issues. Did you try using any carplay bluetooth adapter ? CarPlay requires a high-quality cable that supports both power and data transfer (at least USB 2.0 speeds of 480 Mbps). "Charge-only" cables will not work.

Ride is great. No issues anymore with shocks and springs. B6 damptronics with Eibach pro kit. Racingline links and H&R bars front and rear. I have three sets of Lower front arms on the go at the minute. I’ve been trying different front bushes to stop them eventually making a slight noise when they dry out during the summer. I’ve tried pre fitted, I’ve worked my way through suoerpro, and powerflex. I’m starting with polish now. I have the blue fitted but it’s starting to emit the odd creak again. So I’ll pull them out and try going up to the orange. I’ve also tried all the others refitted with a range of grease from polybush specific to marine grease to no avail. Just the front now though. The front lower with the tts solid bush is quiet. Obviously for reference, it’s always rebuilt with new bolts and tightened on the ground along with setting the adjustable links again everytime. Otherwise the thing drives really well and still makes me chuckle evertime I use it. The rear bar and links were a great help as well to handling and cornering. Yellowstuff rear and blue stuff on the front with their floating discs. Needs tyres on the front, but I’ve PS5’s coming again hopefully next day or two.
