A brief return on the leak, After straightening the fixing legs of the injection ramp, I put with screws in class 10.9 and seal and cups were changed by original parts (80 euros for 4 kits☹️). I erased the error with OBD11 and everything works perfectly. For information, there are 2 types of injectors for our 1.2 tsi 110, so it is essential to take original kits.
  3. My approach to this is wait until they are too bad to cope with and then get them done professionally in a single colour.
  4. If I had such oil consumption from burning and not leak or turbo, I would try piston soak. Won't harm and it's cheap. If the piston rings are stuck, that would unstuck them. Of course, if the oil rings are worn out, nothing could help, unfortunately. My wife is driving the famous KIA/Hyundai oil burner 1.6 GDI engine, and at 160k km, it was burning 1L per 2000 km(~1200 miles). After the piston soak, it now burns 1L per 10k km(6-7000 miles). Yes, it still burns oil, but it's a great improvement. What I would be very careful on a diesel is, how to unscrew the glow plugs since very often they've never been changed..
  5. It depends on driving conditions - as I pointed out in my last post. We have no way of knowing your normal driving conditions. If you do a little searching on the internet, there is information out there.
  6. who knows what previous owner did with this car..

  8. UK coal production was reduced because it was cheaper to import it. The decision to stop using coal came later . We were still burning 50 million tonnes in 2008 Our World in DataCoal production and imports in the United KingdomCoal production and imports in the United Kingdom, measured in tonnes per year.
  9. Left & Right, who is it that decides what to call others leanings, are they to the Right or Left? New Labour or the Keir Starmer Champagne Socialist take every freebie available and from what ever donors and not LEFT WING are they any more than the Tories that take every freebie available from what ever donors might be RIGHT WING, as might the CENTRE / Fence sitter Liberal Democrats or Reform UK takers. As to the Greens, well they are who knows what. Memories# Short term. Recent if anyone looks back less than a decade and bothers to open their eyes or mind. (Long term memories can be selective by Location location location and what you believed or believe.) Mining went open cast and stopped really because Coal Fired Power stations closed. Many wanted the Cumbrian Mine for Coking Coal. No idea what political party they support, but they were wanting jobs in the area.
  10. Hi all, I've been kicking this around for a while, forgot to update you. 🤔. TL;DR; I'm aiming to offset our communities impact on the planet at https://ecologi.com/briskoda To that end, I personally do stuff, but I'm looking at the community, our impact, principally in delivering the community to you. I invite you to read on for yourself too. I had a few options, like a co2 neutral data center etc... That maywell happen when I can find one I think is a good match. In the short term though, I'm planting trees and buying co2 offset on behalf the forum. Which is essentially guesstimating how many tonnes of CO2 we burn for the servers/laptops to provide the forum. I've hooked up with Ecologi , if you signup to offset your personal CO2/trees, the planet gets bonus trees. CO2 The co2 is fairly easy, I'm covering it in excess this year. I'm also lumping in any miles I do for briskoda, which is nada so far this year. The assumption for our servers/network is roughly 430kWh per month in electricity. There is more in the whole chain, but it's almost impossible to calculate. This is about 754 miles driving for an average family car, or 300 ish kgs of CO2. I can only offset in tonnes, and the minimum is two tonnes. So this is easy, we're offsetting 2 tonnes per month. This I believe covers the pico/milliseconds of energy use over the millions of devices brisky data passes over to reach your eyes. Trees Trees, quite a few need to be planted for all the paper we've all used over the years. So inline with the overall goal of 1%, this roughly equates to 100 trees on top of the CO2 offset per month. Your own tree Each month from April 2021 we'll 'gift' a tree to a member. These are trees in the uk, with a what three word reference. You can save that and watch it grow from space I guess... in theory you can even go and give it a hug. Each month from the contributors to this topic/purchasers of tree clumps via our shop, all become eligible for each month. So buy once, your in the pot till I get bored, or the whole planet is a forest, in which case I'll be long gone, and so will you, mother nature 1, human 0. Month Winner April 2021 TBD The Future? There are some personal goals, I have quite a polluting hobby, driving lots of miles to climb a bit of rock. I'll be covering those of personally. Looking forwards for the community, there is much I think I can and we can do. I'm going to sit down one day and try to figure out the total since 2002... bit of fag packet maths required and it will have to be an overestimation too, especially for the miles driven for briskoda fun and business. So here's where your input comes in , thanks for reading this far too. Before I go much further, any other suggestions or schemes, maybe closer to home? I did email a few uk projects but no response, or not deep enough pockets, which brought my sad face on. If you want to add a tree or too, you can. Either under your own account, or add to the briskoda plantation/co2. : https://ecologi.com/briskoda and finally, they do have a uk tree planting scheme... which is what I was waiting for, although a tree is a tree. Thoughts? Each month I' also purchasing a UK tree planting slot. These are given initially to tree planters and other special awards. When exhausted or a spare slot, they will be awarded to a random member of freedom each month. 11. I've had my 2024 2.0TSi 190 L&K a few weeks now but not had chance for a run out. This last week I've had some time off and we booked a week away on the east coast. So my last 2.0 Turbo petrol was a Subaru Impreza Series McRae and that struggled to get out of the teens mpg. I did once have a Mondeo (3.0V6) with similar performance to the Superb and that averaged mid 20's and wouldn't break 35mpg. But the last 15 years most of my cars have been diesel. So I decided this week to drive in normal mode and to drive as I would like. No economy mode and no driving specifically for economy. I get Lincoln is fairly flat and the A roads are 40/50/60 mph but even so I'm very pleased with the results. (I get the app and car mpg figure maybe slightly optimistic) My 80 mile drive home today I achieved over 50mpg. (Average speed affected by que to toll bridge) Over the 5 days I did 270miles and averaged over 45mpg with all days achieving over 40mpg. Looking at those figures the Superb 2.0TSi 190 offers very similar if not better economy than our 1.5TSi Karoq.
  12. Hi, Recently purchased 2018 Fabia SE 1.0 MPI pre face lift with a view to swapping out the "speed limiter only" stalk to a "cruise control and limiter" one with the mode button on the bottom. Seen a few replacement stalks on E-bay but I want to be certain it's the right part number for my car before fitting and taking to Skoda to do the activation code. There are two "Genuine Skoda cruise control kits" currently available on E-bay. Both come with an activation code CD. One is advertised as part number 6V0054691B for £149 and the other is 6V0054800F for £135. Will these work or do I need a different part number kit? Looking on previous threads it seems the choice of right part is linked to the BCM number of the car? How do I get this? Any help confirming the right part number would be welcomed. Also anyone got experience or know what Skoda typically charge to do the activation code? I'm waiting on a quote from them. Thanks in advance. Stuart
  13. Thanks Bowie, yes I’d looked at the instructions too - doesn’t seem to be the issue though as it sometimes doesn’t work having not been used at all. Pack up the car and 5 minutes later I go back to the car and it works. My wife said don’t worry about it cos it’s not that great a function, but it frustrates me when it’s not perfect!! Reading the manual did make me find the auto lock function though, so I’ve set that up, which is nice!
  14. Welcome to the forum. There is a MAX and a MIN and no 'Fill to this line' marker. The MAX fill up can sometimes drop and self level. That is a good place to mark with a marker & where many cars stay at till the next service or fill up then back to setting it's own level. But dropping to MIN needs diagnosed as to the source of the leak.
  15. As @Ootohere says, use what the sticker says or if you want to change, try 0/30. 5/30 would be a bad idea IMO. It's a complicated business, choosing an oil. Manufacturer-specified oils may not be best for the health of the engine, but may prioritise low emissions and fuel economy.
  16. I do that already, BBC Sounds which does get slagged off but I've had no issues with it...although I hear they are pulling plug outside UK (I'm in Ireland) As said above the "internet radio" function would be good as you could store favourites - I can't see any way to store favourites from Carplay apps like BBC sounds etc

Not the same car but my 1.9tdi whistled away like yours and randomly went into limp mode. Actuator for turbo was sticking. Freed it off and it was fine since. Might be worth checking its moving freely and not jammed half in half out. Alasdair
  18. A decent DMM need not cost much and is a useful addition to the toolbox, also useful for testing fuses, lamps, etc. - in car and around the house. Something with a resolution count of 4k to 6k and it's certainly not necessary go to the heights of a Fluke.
  19. A wells a well a river is a river, if you fall in you'll make it bigger. From my childhood. Rivers are pretty low but the Pumped Hydro will used likely tonight. The Electricity providers all get a wee shoty. The Nuclear in Scotland that can power 3/4 of all homes in Scotland might even be going across the channel if it is not going to just England just now.

Yes it is a bit messy, I found my spare parts at volkswagen because at skoda, he had only the other reference in stock !
  21. Thanks for the additional thoughts and suggestions. That's interesting about potentially checking the DMF through the starter motor hole – I'll definitely mention that to the garage when I take it in a couple of weeks. Regarding the noise, it was definitely happening constantly while the car was running, not just when changing gears. That's why the initial thought went to something physically stuck or the flywheel itself. The fact that it stopped entirely is still a bit of a mystery. A sticking release bearing or a failing slave cylinder causing a slight gear crunching noise is another possibility I hadn't considered, I'll make sure the mechanic checks those components as well. Fingers crossed it is just a one-off or a simple fix! I appreciate your insights and I'll be sure to update the thread once the garage has had a look.
  22. When we are talking about the energy / electricity in the UK on the day, week or when ever it is worth IMO looking at by region. It is a location location location thing. Scorchio today where i am and just a light breeze. The turbines i passed at several wind farm sites were all turning this morning. http://electricityproduction.uk/in/scotland Under 6 million of a population. http://electricityproduction.uk/in/london Over 8 million of a population.
  23. Hi welcome. You've posted in the wrong site forum for (model) problems, have a look at or ask in the 'Škoda Kodiaq' forum. - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/340-%C5%A1koda-kodiaq/ Being very close to the exhaust it sounds louder and a bit rough but it depends on soe many things, especially as it's a 7-8 year old car its history. On the forum for the Mk1 Kodiaq will be experienced owners that will be able to give you info and advice. HTH. Good luck.
  24. Only thing for me is a find the MIB3 is frustrating for playing music via USB. It's slow to build a library, forgets it randomly and never restarts where you left off. It can also jumble track order. I now only use Android Auto and play music off my phone or through Amazon Music.
  25. Yes, I was referring to stop-start - it is often a good indicator of low battery SOC when it fails to operate.
  26. Always gotta try these things before putting down the money. I also found it very tight when sat in the showroom. But then I haven't driven many supermini sized cars. Good finishes inside though, may be that's why moto-journo like it so much.
  27. I was on my way to Aberdeen to roadtest an Alpine A290. When I was in a Renault 5 I was not wearing my leg and had got to it driving a BMW. So I stopped to try and 5EV on the way up the road and after getting straight out of the MINI. Glad I did as with the standard pedals I can not drive using my left foot. The seating is just too high, upright and hard. Door entrance dead tight.
  28. I had to reset my window settings after the battery was disconnected for fitting a towbar, this restored the one shot up and down and the sunroof operation. I was handed the solution by a forumite and it involved using each window switch to open, then release the switch then hold down for another second, and the same for up. Had to do each window from the driver's console.
  29. Was going to suggest the sunglasses holder too. Had a rattle last week that was driving me mental. I was adamant it was coming from the passenger door pocket or glove box, the Mrs was adamant it was coming from my side of the car. Eventually realised it was the sunglasses. It's mad how only hearing it in my left ear really screwed with my perception of where the sound was coming from!
  30. It's a real drawback that the price we pay for electricity is linked to the world price for natural gas, it seems without good reason as so little of our electricity is produced by burning gas (at the moment according to grid.iamkate.com it's 26.7%). Then when you take into account the upfront costs of switching from a gas boiler to a heat pump (even allowing for the very mean grants available) it's not something that many homeowners can afford to do. If there really is a climate emergency then there need to be MUCH better grants for the majority to install heat pumps, solar cells, battery storage, etc. Until that happens I for one will have to stick with my gas combi boiler and 100% usage of grid electricity.
  31. Well, for what regards the reparability, they are as any other alloy rim, so filler and welding if needed can be made. The problem comes with the "shining" surface, which requires a specific workshop that makes "diamond cut" finish. Unless you come across the (very expensive) tooling, I do not think you can DIY that. A damaged rim like that would need to be, for example, welded/filled, then painted, then goes to the diamond cut, then on top the transparent lacquer. It is not cheap, I seem to recall 2.5/3x times the cost of a "normal" wheel spray, but this to be confirmed by some local shop in your area .... Also, wheel needs to be very straight for the machining, so make sure they go first for check. Usually the same shop that makes the diamond cut will inspect them beforehand, at least that they did for me, and for free - I had a set of Pentas made for an old MB.
  32. People had the light come on during the Covid years on pretty new cars. Cold starts and short journeys. Or they just had odd behaviours, the high idle annoyed many. From 2018 to now is about right to find out if GPF,s will have issues. We will find out what many dealers say replacements will cost. People are in different countries and weathers and using E5 or maybe E10, maybe 95 or 97 or 99 ron. Some countries are maybe 98 ron Super unleaded E5. It will be become more apparent as time goes on if GPF,s are to become another expense people really could do without getting the Light off, or the GPF replaced. PS. @Suomen_Skoda I had to look at your profile to see based in Finland. Do you run E5 95 Ron petrol and is your Winter Grade different from the Winter Grade in the UK Oct/Nov to March?
  33. Very likely that the low current draw, if sleep mode inhibited, will have incremental effect - my understanding is that even a very low current draw from an unexpected source is sufficient to inhibit.
  34. The overnight voltage drop you are currently seeing will be normal - especially given the current battery is faulty. Fit the new battery, carry out correct adaptation (coding) if required - E.G if vehicle has 'smart' alternator, then test again to check if there is any parasitic drain - which I think will be unlikely. Provided the new battery is not discharged below 30% - below approx. 11.8 V for AGM/EFB (or 11.6 V for standard L.A battery) and the battery is recharged immediately after discharge, the battery will suffer no damage.
  35. @EnterName I would be very interested if you find where i said ' can not remember saying something'. If i did it was really 'I did not say something' I would not remember something that actually i never said. The reason being i have a photographic memory and can also remember everything i ever write or post, or read. I know where and when i posted stuff. I do not like where someone quotes or takes a piece of something said at one time and it it not in context. PS As far as the DQ381, 'We are not all doomed'. But people maybe want to just be aware of the Schedules for servicing and how some with a DQ381 with no issues are having issues when serviced. Or just be aware of when there were fundamental design, manufacturing or material / hardware or software issues. Keep a valid warranty maybe if you can. Fantastic thanks. I know what you posted, but for the sake of others and not needing to search your posts to find out about your servicing and cost i asked on here again. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482244-dq381-service-intervals TPS can maybe not always be trusted, you might want to phone a friend.
  36. Thanks to all for the above. Annoyingly this morning the car started as normal - I was hoping the non-starting would keep presenting to help determine the cause of the problem. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on the park mode interfering with sleep mode. Don't know why, if this is the problem, it should appear now when the camera has been like this for 2 months or so unless it has slowly but incrementally each day taken capacity from the battery to the point it is now a problem. And it would explain why once the car has started I've not had a problem for the rest of the day, having put some charge back. And thinking about it, yesterday I did a longer run in the afternoon so did about 50 miles yesterday rather than my more typical 10 miles or so and perhaps put enough charge back in the battery to be sufficient to start. today Again, thanks for these thoughts. Before I go back to the garage I'll try switching the dashcam out of parking mode and see if the problem repeats. I've also ordered a cheap cigarette lighter (very non pc to refer to it in this way but we all know what I mean) voltage meter which should be here in a couple of days. Not very sophisticated but it might give me a clue as to the battery state first thing in the morning; I don't think I'd be safe/competent with anything more complicated. Warrior 193 I'm not sure what you mean by "Does your automatic idle stop operate normally". Are you referring to Stop/Start as I don't have this on my Yeti - one less thing to go wrong : )

  38. It's an easy enough job, but the wheels are heavy. Front wheels are the worse as you can't stop the hubs turning when you're trying to put the wheels back on. I used a pretty standard 2 tonne aluminium trolly jack and it did the job ok. Just read both sets of instructions as on the fronts you use two existing screws and drill two new holes for plastic plugs. For the rear you use three existing screws and drill one hole for a plastic plug.
  39. Hello, welcome to the forum. Have you used the correct method? - it sounds as if you have confused DPF and GPF regen methods. GPF regeneration is done on closed throttle engine overrun.
  40. Getting a full car controllers scan with a VW Group compliant tool, might have been the smarter first move, gives you a better idea of what the problem is or what the car is seeing the source of the problem is. Okay, I'd have expected it to be an ABS sensor - but in your case that assumption has not worked. Edit:- you will probably need to drive the car a short distance to clear the faults, although some will still remain until cleared using a scan tool, but should not now affect the car.
  41. Are you certain it's actual leather and not a rubbery faux leather?
  42. Yep I think you should just reject it and look at others... Like I say maybe decide on another 2 or possibly 3 colours other than white (They're like black cars great the day you clean them but look dirty the day after 🙂) and then take a look at what's available elsewhere. 👍
  43. Yes, I got it replaced. You have to strip quite a bit of stuff, but once you do that the access isn't too bad. It just requires a bit of work unfortunately. I just worked off the workshop manual in the link above. Any specific questions though, just ask!
  44. https://www.ecutesting.com/common-faults/volkswagen/dq381-mechatronic-causing-tiguan-dsg-gearbox-problems/ if you have a look at the above, it suggests that the problems are with earlier cars, so you would think that VAG have addressed the issues ? the 2nd link you posted about the improved dq381 is not from VAG though, but the above link suggests VAG have done something to fix things
  45. While everyone’s entitled to their opinion, I think the way one has chosen to express it is unnecessarily derogatory. It’s one thing to prefer another website, totally fair, we all have our preferences. However, t’s another thing entirely to come into this community and trash the site in such a dismissive way. If the roles were reversed, I’m sure VerticalScope the owner of the site you prefer would be thrilled to know one of their members was out publicly belittling other communities online. That kind of behavior reflects more on the individual than on any platform they’re talking about. There’s always room for improvement in any community, and thoughtful, constructive criticism is always welcome. But this kind of negativity doesn’t build anything, it just tears down. If you’ve got suggestions, let’s hear them. If not, maybe consider the kind of energy you’re bringing into the space. We’re all here to make things better, not bitter. Enjoy your site, and don’t let the door hit you backside on the way out…
  46. I have been dealing with Škoda Customer Support since January trying to get some help. They regularly contact my retailer who tells them that no update to fix the issue is available at the moment. I have emailed the CEO of Skoda Uk and I am now dealing with their executive support team who seem to be taking the issue more seriously. I have told them I just want a car that works! It still seems to be the retailer who has to sort the problem out but I think the blame lies with the manufacturer, Škoda, who are making and selling cars that don’t work properly! I’m expecting a result next week. Will keep posting!
  47. I don't see what the site software has to do with anything - it's no less navigable than it was before. Same topics are in the same forums and sub-forums. Not many CitiGo posts maybe because as mentioned it's been taken out of production. Last one rolled off the line five years ago.
  48. Not-so-good news I'm afraid, I have just had a look at my wife's 2015 1.2 TSI (90) and it is as dry as a bone down there from what I can see and enough dust in the engine bay of my wife's car to easily show. Plugs have been changed twice (by Dealerships). Expensive poor quality VWŠkoda front dampers certainly oil mist (from at least 11 months old if not sooner or at first use).
  49. I've just had a look under the bonnet of my wife's 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS and it has stayed a lot "drier" than your car - in that area, I did not remove that charge pipe when I replaced the spark plugs 2 years ago, so maybe this weeping has slowed down since I last replaced these O-ring seals back in 2019!. There is an O-ring sealing washer at both ends of that charge pipe, and the official instruction in the workshop manual is renew them after removing the charge pipe. The VW Group P/Ns are WHT 001 386 and WHT 003 247
