  2. When you say only wanders when using AA, can you not just use google maps through AA? I get it, it's frustrating when the inbuilt nav drifts, mine has lapsed into it on a couple of occasions but has thankfully righted itself quite quickly. May be a silly question but have you tried performing a factory reset on the infotainment unit? Will require you to sign in again as primary user afterwards, but it can help with small bugs like these

  4. Hi, Getting the common GPS drifting issue with my 2022 VRS, I've been told the OCU module is the issue and a dude offered to bypass and pretty much disable the GPS. Is there another trick that can resolve it? disabling android auto permissions didn't work whatsoever. Phone GPS is 100% ok, only drifts when using Android Auto. Unfortunately I'm out of warranty, dealer wants $200 just to test the issue and claims they are not aware of it (though there are talks in FB groups) Would love any help, I'm really lost.

  9. To check the alarm siren on mine if I lock car with fob and wait for a few mins then unlock door with key the alarm goes off if I dont put key in ignition within 20secs aprox. You could also leave window down and lock car then wave about inside car through window. If the hazards are flashing but no siren the battery as said in siren has probably failed. It can also trigger alarm if theres any damage to circuit boards in siren due to leaking batteries. Alasdair
  10. Yes the Superb (and certainly earlier) Octavias seem to be consistent people pleasers in the reliability stakes. Good to have that “small” car atm until the current fuel issues calm down .

  16. Hi everyone, About 3 months ago I replaced the turbo and front crankshaft oil seal. I had to remove the reduction agent(adblue) pipes to get to places. Now I've noticed it leaking very slightly. 2020 2.0tdi manual. DSRA engine. It's where the two pipes join the injector on top of the exhaust. Is it low pressure? I'm pretty sure the pipes are good and being only 6 years old I expect them to be. Please advise....... Remove, clean and refit. Replace the two short Flexi pipes? Many thanks

Thanks for your information I'll give that a go see if it solves the problem thanks Derek 👍
  19. Thanks for the reply. The fuel price is outrageous. We’ve always had a “big car” and a “small car”. Two Volvo V70’s, an XC90, even a Granada Estate back in the day. I like the pulling power of diesel and the reliability of the engines. So we thought, let’s get a 5m long, comfortable car. The Superb was top of the list.
  20. If hazards were flashing with no audible alarm sounding, it's possible that the alarm was triggered by falling battery voltage or something else and the internal alarm unit battery is faulty.
  21. This reddit recent-ish discussion may be of interest The original enquiry relates to a 2023 Fabia Mk4 Monte Carlo (1.0litre motor) with DSG transmission that was making 'clunking' noises. The following advice was provided First thing I would do, is do a DSG reset, there are guides online and need no special knowledge to do. ================================= To reset the DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox) on your 2023 Skoda Fabia and clear its adaptive learning memory, perform a manual throttle-kickdown reset: Turn on the ignition (do not start the engine) so all dashboard lights illuminate. Press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor until you feel the "kickdown" button click. Hold it down for 10 to 60 seconds. You may hear faint clicking as the solenoids adjust. Release the pedal and start the car normally, or turn the ignition off and restart. Why Do This? Over time, the DSG's Transmission Control Module (TCM) adapts to your specific driving habits. If you experience jerky shifts, delayed throttle response, or clunky gear changes, a reset forces the gearbox to "forget" these patterns and relearn a smoother shifting profile. Post-Reset Advice After resetting the transmission, ensure you drive normally and gently for the first few miles. Avoid heavy acceleration or hard braking so the gearbox has a smooth, controlled environment to relearn the ideal biting points and shift timings. Note: This procedure resets the transmission's learned driving habits but will not clear mechanical faults. If you still experience severe hesitation, shuddering, or warning lights, the vehicle may require a diagnostic scan tool (like VCDS or OBDeleven) to check for deeper issues or perform a basic settings adaptation. ================================= Once that is done, if you still get issues, get it booked in for a full DSG service. I'VE NO IDEA IF THAT ADVICE IS VALID

  24. My colleague was asked to bring his car in to have the update after he complained about the daily shop updates. If your car is still in warranty this seems like the quickest solution... Is the 323 update available for download and manual installation somewhere? Gabbo
  25. @tombee i'm guessing, there was made some kind of adopter similar, but another model

  27. It turned out I had severe feathering on the inside edge of both of my rear tyres so I replaced all 4 with Michelin pilot sport 4s and the problem is no more.
  28. Well, it looks like they just added a second horn in parallel if you have posher trim. Not sure about the wiring thickness, as the main wire from the supply control unit appears to be 0.5, though it's a bit blurry when I zoom in. Strange diagram for the relay as it's control wire might be to pin 11, and so a ground operated line, but if the diagram is correct , that would ground the horn as well.
  29. After exactly 2hrs (5A charger) the charging went from initially 13.2V to a max of 14.4V before reducing to 13.2V. SOC went from 53% to 77% Usable Battery Charge 16A to 27A Voltage at Rest 12.1V to 12.5V.
  30. The sealed for life I would take with a pinch of salt. It is often mentioned that the ‘sealed for life’ was 80k service intervals. I’m not sure that there are many here in the group who have a DSG with that interval who choose to stick to it. I personally try to service it in at the same interval as the 6 speed - the DSG are expensive to repair when it goes wrong. Personally the £200-£300 cost of the service is something I accept paying if it means greater peace of mind.

  33. Autum break for the kids, so did a longer journey to the mountains the day after delivery. VERY happy how this thing drives, and ease-of-use! I almost shat my pants when it hammered on the breaks while parallel parking in reverse though... But I wanted to hear from the rest of you, how do you experience the build quality ? E.g. Tesla seems to me to be a brand of uneven panel gaps, strange assemblies, etc. I am curious on your experiences, because I get the impression the paint is thinner than our 2014 Octavia with clear "build ups" along the panel edges. Furthermore, I had a misaligned gap between fender and bonnet, but it was a quick fix with adjusting the rubber cushion in alongside the frunk. But said fender is also not a flush surface on the upper profile (under the black plastic "gills") by 3-4 mm compared to the neighbouring door. Also noticing that the rubber gasket on the very top of that said door is not laying fully into the roof to prevent moisture getting there (will get interesting when things freezes).
  34. With an Elroq 60, the lesser charge means in NMC technology, you'd have free space (I imagine similar idea as for old vs new e-Golfs). For Skoda as a manufacturer, the less-dense LFP technology most likely utilizes that theoretical void. The LFP offering is also seen in Tesla model 3 etc. I found it preferred, as it is less strict on the charging practices (takes 100% more frequently and by recommendation), and also seems to be a technology which is less prone to fire hazard. So far really chuffed with ours for even long journeys, even if driving an Octavia is a good thing.
  35. Hi Buddy. Good to see you here. So a Superb choice hopefully for you. "A lot of car for not much cash" was Which Mag verdict this last year's guide. My Octavia estate is a bit slim in the hips compared with my old Mondeo Mk.3 estate. Your diesel will pick up some high re-fuelling prices but my PHEV Mk iV came with a Covid infection and fragile tech that your diesel is blissfully ignorant of. Enjoy your old school car!

  37. Hi Guys. Had a guy bang on the front door saying my hazards were on.Went out and unlocked and hazards stopped.Connected my smart charger this morning and it said battery was at 34%. Car starts easily. Anyone had this or any ideas? By the way 2022 VRS
