  1. Taken at Keddlestone........
  2. The Superb uses a different technology for the heated windscreen so you won't see any wires as there aren't any. It uses an extremely thin metallic coated layer within the windscreen that from certain angles looks like the windscreen has a metallic finish to it. Edit: the same question was asked here with a bit more information https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/454901-mkiii-superb-heated-windscreen/

Move froma '67 Superb L&K to a '72 Karoq Sportline. less than 24 hours of ownership, I've removed the aero inserts I appreciate the colour divides opinion, but I love it.
  5. Just as a finished washing the car, it started raining. :( But I decided to buy a separate set of wheels for my summer tyres (and keep using the original wheels in winter). What do you think? :)
  6. It looks like more of a chameleon tint that a wire element version.
  7. Apparently the service book seems to contain much more here in Sweden that must be carried out for warranties etc. to apply compared to the UK. Wagon / Estate / Combi / Kombi → Different names in different parts of the world meaning the same thing. Engine code is: CJZD
  8. Ask for the dealer to confirm it in writing that the lack of a DSG service at the correct time will not affect any claims going forward and see what reaction you get. If they decline to do so that will show what they are up to. For reference we got our Kodiaq from Vertu (Bristol Street Motors as was) in Chesterfield and their after sales service with regards to a water leak into the boot was useless, showing little knowledge of the vehicle so I ended up fixing it myself.
  9. I have a 2023 2.0 TSI Sportline, so I don't expect amazing mpg, but I have to say I'm pretty impressed after 1 year of ownership. To date in 6000 miles it is 35 mpg - pretty much what Skoda show on the spec sheet for my car. Around 75% of my usage is short distance 4-5 miles locally the rest is longer journeys on 70 mph major roads when the average is around 45 mpg. Yesterday I decided to try ECO mode on a 120 mile round trip. Going was 50/50 mix of single carriageway A roads, town centre traffic and Motorway; recorded 45 mpg, return journey 80% motorway 49.5 mpg, typically driving at 60 to 70 mph. I did not use cruise control but did use the speed limiter and coast mode kicked in most times whenever I lifted off the accelerator. My previous 2.0 TDI DSG Touran used to average around 60 mpg on that journey, using V-Power diesel, the Karoq runs on Shell E10 Unleaded - negligible cost difference for fuel. I can't find documented anywhere what ECO mode actually does, but my impression was that it seems to start off in 2nd more, that it stays in 6th and 7th longer and is happy to run at at 1100/1200 rpm in both those gears when normally it would have changed down at around 1500 rpm. I also noticed that the Soundaktor is quieter too.
  10. A few from today........................
  11. I think the ride heights are as follows (by drop): Standard: 0mm Sport line: -15mm L&K/DCC: -10mm* *The importance distinction with DCC is that even the sport line or standard cars with DCC are 10mm drop. If you have comfort mode then you have DCC.

  14. Hi I’m Peter a double Skoda owner from Gosport , and a truck driver I currently own a 74 plt Enyaq 50 suite full leather exshowroom car and pick up a 2011 Octavia 1.6tdi SE estate tomorrow as a work hack due to very dusty yard full of trucks I don’t like leaving my Enyaq there Hence the red estate name
  15. Evening! Hope you enjoy the red bus, and any issues, post in the sections :) also, dont forget to nose around the social zone, we are a friendly crowd for the most part and always good for a chat!
  16. Those figures don't look too bad but you could could consider giving the battery a bit of a treat with a full charge.
  17. . Not enough full adverts for Safety Recalls of any cars. The RECALL Announcement on the telly or magazines / press should be as long as the Adverts for selling them and paid for by the manufacturers.
  18. Done it... 2nd cut was an absolute pig, cheap exhaust cutter blunted really quick! Fits well, sounds a little better at idle, with a bit more burble under load. Will do a proper listen tomorrow on the way to work.
  19. I have a brand new one lying around somewhere you can have for postage, came with my LE but I swapped the wheels over and never used it
  20. That's a lot, he'll want a diesel!
  21. Looking good so far! Keep going when you're able to obviously!😁
  22. Haven't posted for a while but thought I'd give you an update.. so the car has been down to Retro Resus near Taunton and had a PowerMax 1 fitted and an Ecotune remap and DSG map too. Target was 400 bhp but so far we've only made 380. Temperatures were running very hot, limiting power so the car is booked back in to have a new Aircon rad fitted. Plus they found a couple of other issues.. The coil packs needed replacing and the injectors need sorting. So fingers crossed, after another visit we should get there. Can't report back on how she drives as I'm having to keep a light right foot until the other bits have been fixed. Plus, I'm finding the power delivery very jerky. Like, head yanking off your shoulders jerky. I asked if there was a problem with the DSG map but the suspicion is the DSG needs a service so that will get done too. While it was in there I got them to fit the Golf R rear ARB I bought on eBay.. I can definitely recommend that as a low cost mod. The handling is much improved. They've recommended replacing the shocks.. they're pretty much shot.. not surprising after 100k miles I guess. Bilstein B6s are the recommendation. Need to save a few more pennies before I do that.
  23. Just to update the thread - it was definitely the clutch! Pictures attached :) Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated!
  24. Yesterday got a bit scrappy because I was real stressed about cutting up the car and it was hot day in full sun and I suffer a bit from "health". I took myself off to bed with a thumping migraine in the end. It's galling because so much got done really. My friend took me to his favourite paint shop and I picked out a colour which I'm not sure about any more, but whatever. I've got seam sealer for where I've welded, some PROXL stuff to dye plastics back to black which will be used on the scuttle cover and the bed trim, a tin of primer, a tin of the paint we're not sure about, and some lacquer. All this in aid of painting round the window area before the screen goes in so we don't have to remove the screen to paint the whole car. This is because I'm not paying for paint till the car is MOTed so everything is a bit about-face. IF I was sensible I'd prep the whole car whilst it's in bits and get it well painted, but I can't invest that much in it in case it never gets road legal. Anyway, that's the doom loop. I'll chuck some of this paint on one of the old wings to see how it looks and if it's what I really want to go for. The rest of what got done is: Drilled out the spot welds on the rotten scuttle and slit the ends Found out what joys were underneath. Fixed the damage from drilling out the welds by zapping in a bit of weld and flatting it back. There was one thin area which will have really benefited from that. Started trimming both ends of the car and the panel to gradually move them closer to being well aligned friends. The last thing I did which MAY be the mistake is cutting the firewall BELOW the first spot welds because I thought this will be the easiest way to butt weld the most good metal back into the car. What I'd not realised is that by doing that and drilling out those welds (which I already did) I'm separating the firewall from the lower section of the 'triangle' that forms the scuttle. It just means I have to take care about my alignments when I put it back together so I don't fail to bond the scuttle together correctly to keep that triangle which is obviously forming a 'beam' across the car. I'll make sure I weld the new scuttle to the lower scuttle BEFORE seam welding the firewall back together so we get all the stronk we need. This is the really good bit because a) it gets the car almost back to being 'an car' and b) it's the time I'm MOST likely to burn it down. The battery is out and the ECU is disconnected so hopefully electronics survive. Thanks for reading, sorry I got sick and didn't do more, hrmph.
  25. Yes it will fit, just the natural break forward of the box is a bit further forward here so you have to make 2 cuts rather than 1, then rejoin it behind the existing clamp on the right of the pic.
  26. Used my factory swivel towbar for the first time last week. It's been tucked away for the last 10 months from new. To be fair it's spotless but I greased everything up anyway. I've had plenty of issues with detachables and swivels in the past.
  27. As far as I have seen they come with a zone restriction in the system so you might not be able to alter it sadly
  28. I'm talking about when information is plain wrong / incorrect. Nothing subjective and nothing about things that may change. Some information is simply incorrect and always will be ... but some people still keep passing it on ..... and always will ... because some people do not check their information. I believe in checking information before passing it on to others, or at least use the phrase 'I think' or 'I'm not sure but' .............. Too late.
  29. Just to keep current and future readers informed. I got my car looked at by a VAG group specialist and sadly the ECU had failed which had to be swapped out. Towards the last few days before going in the garage it basically became totally un drivable. It happened to be quite costly but back on the road and driving better then ever (fingers crossed) Thanks all for your advice and help.
  30. Try switching it on late on a cool night, then feel if the screen changes temperature compared to side glass.
  31. Hi @Lucchese , good luck with the Volvo, its on my very very short list of possible marques to replace my octavia with. just remember, you can still visit Brisky, theres a lot of us that the skoda fold and stayed, and returned (or not) to ownership and stayed, so dont be a stranger 👍😁
  32. Heated screens have come on leaps and bounds, my first heated screen (I think) had two wires, and the first time I drove the car at night it showed delamination areas, not visible in daylight! The screen was changed without a quibble.
  33. If you are not sure that the original battery was correctly coded from EFB to AGM, then I would get it coded. The voltages are a bit different and the coding on many cars resets an “aging profile” for how the battery is charged.
  34. The A8 seats came from a car of a similar age to my Skoda, as they are both VAG products I found the wiring was pretty much the same and so it was a straight swap. I had to make up new multiplugs as they didn’t match but that wasn’t too hard
  35. Yes, the spark plugs have been changed as well as the brake fluid and fuel filter and cabin filter. All according to the regular service plan at fixed mileage.

It's a common part across all of VAG, so VW, Audi, Skoda etc. Just a quick search found a supplier in NZ. https://www.harryseuro.co.nz/products/thermostat-auto-gearbox-1k0121113a Pretty sure there will be plenty of others if you search for the part no.
  37. Fuse 47 for the rear wiper using a hardwire kit which piggy backs the fuse camera then turns on and off with ignition. You have to drop the glovebox down.
  38. Yes, same capacity, same technology (AGM), so least chance of any problems. Doom-mongers may be along soon to tell you that the battery management system will start damaging it immediately by treating it like the old battery (whatever that means) but I suspect most of that is unfounded in reality.
  39. My immediate though was the OP was asking about the lithium-ion battery, I hadn't considered the 12V battery!
  40. Cześć, poniżej link do strony z opisem możliwych FW U Ciebie powinno pójść do wersji 742. https://www.drive2.ru/l/650934799095051499/
  41. Back after being most unwell, new map workimg fine, thanks for the support. FC
  42. Hi, This topic may help you: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/files/category/8-skoda-kodiaq/ There's one workshop manual dedicated to diesel engine fuel system indeed. It should give you an idea on how to access the fuel pump and if it implies dropping the fuel tank. Hope this helps. Regarding other issues, can you post the VCDS scan file here? I can have a look...
  43. If the dealer is not being particularly cooperative, I’d be inclined to walk away.
  44. Impossible! You couldn’t possibly have done 460,000km today! Some rough maths say that would take over 600 tanks of fuel (at a generous 750km/tank)… at 5 minutes to fill and pay for each, that’s over 2 days (50 hours), which doesn’t leave any time for actually driving. (Yes, I am /that/ bored today 🤣) Edit: or on the assumption you’ve fitted a nuclear power source that doesn’t need refuelling for that sort of distance, you were doing an average of 19,000km/hour. Impressive!
  45. Have driven 460 000 km without major problems.
  46. 6-figure milestone unlocked today!!
  47. Just adding to this as a customer that's just withdrawn from a PCP agreement, having signed up during the Skoda Plus Event (£750 dealer contribution plus two years' MOT, Servicing, Recovery and Warranty). Picked up the car on a Saturday, phoned VWFS asking to withdraw on the Monday which froze the balance with just under £10 extra on top of the list price. Everything confirmed on the phone but waited for the 'Right to Withdraw' letter to arrive before paying off the balance (you get 30 days to do so from the moment you ask). Now just waiting for the clearance letter to come through saying the car is ours which should arrive within 10 days. We didn't have to make up the balance for the dealer contribution and we've kept the servicing plan as it's not connected to the finance agreement. Hopefully helpful for someone else that ends up searching and reading various threads as I did before purchasing!
  48. Maybe someone is interested? I have a simple way to upload speed cameras to a Skoda. Just importing new poi and it works. There is even a warning sound. I found UK and some European countries. Uploading the POI takes a maximum of 2 minutes, the only thing you need is a USB drive
  49. Got self-adhesive laser cutted liners for Karoq from a local company 😍
