Hi everyone. The driving assist camera (A5) that I had from new originally failed. It was visible in the gateway but showed several errors. I bought a used replacement, had it adapted by a professional company, and it worked flawlessly for a few years until it died too. This time it seemed to be a power supply issue because it was completely dead and not visible in the Gateway at all. I decided to swap the PCB (board) from my first original camera into the housing of the second one. Now the camera is alive and visible again. There are absolutely no errors in module A5. Sign recognition (VIBR) is working fine. Lane Assist can be switched on in the infotainment menu, but it doesn't actually work (it fails to detect lane markings). However, my ACC (Module 13) is now down and throws 3 static U112100 "Data bus missing message" errors that cannot be cleared. What is the next step to get this sorted? Does it need parameterization (dataset/XML), coding, or calibration? Any help would be appreciated.

Reviving an older topic; I own an older generation OBDeleven device, which does not have useful Live Data recording/graphing. I asked OBDeleven about that, and they said, yes, my older device can't do that; I'd need to buy one of their newer devices. But, do you all recommend that I just go with a newer OBDeleven device? (I've always found OBDeleven's Android app and data exchange with my 2020 April-manufactured 2019 model year Octavia III Facelift to be frustratingly slow). Or, go for something other than OBDeleven at all? Is VCDS still the best thing? I saw some discussion of a VLinker brand, but their products are confusing - they don't explain how to choose among them. thanks for your suggestions, -Jay

What makes you think the discs need replacing?

4x4 Sportlines have 45 profile tyres on 29 inch rims and multilink rear suspension (similar if not identical to Passat, Golf and others) 2wd have torsion beam axle - this is a big factor in ride comfort. Try and get a late 73 plate which will still have warranty and then purchase All-in-one plan. I m just about to do that for my Karoq 2.0 TSI 4x4 Sportline. Cost is £959, cost of 2 yrs extended warranty is £624 - thus allinone 2 services and 2 mots is £335, so that’s £168 per service and mot- 2 years roadside is also included - no brainer. Can get extra 4 years warranty, I have checked DSG, infotainment screen, dash screen and matrix headlight units are all covered if they fail.

O/S/F N/S/F O/S/R N/S/R But don't loos any sleep over it. FOS = found overly stiff ?

Thanks all for the REALLY helpful insight. I think I can live with the 19" wheels as I had them on the mk4 VRS (without DCC) - but will be sure to really concentrate on ride quality during test drives. I might consider the SEL but the Sportline was the one that caught my eye and coming from a largely VRS and GTi background, I suspect it'll win through for me, even over comfort. I'll definitely buy approved used and look to use the all-in-one followup cover during my ownership, so hopefully things like headlights and boot struts aren't much of a concern. Is the pano roof standard on later models? basically I'll happily avoid it if I can.

My only other ideas are - 1) Blocked holes in the plastic cover that sits under the front wiper arms, ahead of the base of the windscreen. 2) Washer bottle or a pipe from it has sprung a leak. That makes more sense as OSF / FOS

Hey all Have a 2021 mk4 octavia vrs and i am not far from needing front pads and discs changed Been quoted £750 by a trustworthy indie garage and on akoda website it goes for about £800 Just checking how much it has cost other people to get both front pads and discs changed at a garage?

I hope you're allowed to wait until you're charged despite what the sign says!

I currently have an Ottocast Mini Cube 3 that I picked up just before Christmas but it's currently sat on the side doing nothing as it doesn't seem to like my Kodiaq's Bolero and has therefore only been used a couple of times. It's still in it's original packaging with all parts and has been 'reset' to as delivered factory settings. It's the standard USB model rather than a USB C but does come with an adapter. I paid £43 including delivery for it but if anyone wants it I'm happy to take £35 for it - just drop me a PM. Cheers

British gas warning uk gas stocks are at record low which ciukd affect LNG supply and presumably electricity production from gas powered electricity plants. If actual supply becomes a problem rather than just the big price hike this could be all sorts of problems electricity, heating and those types of transport that use LNG which increasingly includes ships.

grajay, It sounds like it is AirCon related. This hot weather the Air con is working hard. Have you got a Sun Roof? Oh, & what is "the fos wheel" ??? 🙂

For the last week or so, most mornings I've found a small puddle of water just inside the line of the fos wheel on the garage floor. I'd say that it amounts to about 2 or 3 tablespoonfuls. I've tasted the water and it certainly isn't coolant, and in any event the water level in the expansion tank hasn't changed. I'm sure it's not aircon derived as I've not used it for about. the same period. I thought it was rainwater being held with somewhere below the windscreen but I've no idea where to look. To sum up, I don't think this is serious to take the car off the road, but it niggles me that I cannot find a solution. Hopefully one of you might be able to suggest something. Thanks

Google tells me it was dropped as standard on MY24 cars, where it became a circa £900 option. So if it's something you want, carefully check the spec of late '23 cars when the change would have been made.

Hi Skoda fans, I am from Bulgaria. I've bought my first car in 2021 - Skoda 2 (2005) combi, 1.9 TDI 105. I've changed almost all parts of it unfortunately and that's how I learnt most of the things about Skoda. Currently I am driving Skoda 4 2022 combi, DSG, 2.0 TDI, 150hp

Much of that lead was created by the UK outsourcing manufacturing and, in doing so, exposing our manufacturing processes, designs, etc., giving them even more power by learning how we do things. I can remember back in my lifetime when it was the UK that led the entire world in many fields. One such item is trucks; think back to all great British lorries that once ruled our roads and those overseas. Now it there is not a single one left. We are now a massive importer of lorries instead of being an exporter. You can look at so many other things, toys is another prime example.
