  1. I found some pictures from an online workshop manual if anyone needs them for future reference
  2. Yep. Pretty much the same thing, IMO. Ah ha! This is the money-shot. The whole idea of "consensus" is (IMO quite a feminine) perversion of science. Scientists don't care about consensus. Consensus is for women, soy-boys and deciding where the lads are going for a drink tonight. Any "science" that leans on consensus is not science. Unfortunately, your whole case rests on an artificial consensus, which is pushed by people with vested interests in pushing the "green" agenda. (It was the same with the COVID-19 vaccines, IMO. The "consensus" on the benefits of the vaccine did not represent the reality of the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines. Some of most ardent vaccine enthusiasts stopped at three shots and said "Now hang on a minute...".) All scientists have incentives and disincentives to push the Climate Change agenda. You want a load of funding from "green" groups and/or Governments? Tell them you're studying the effects of "climate change" on <whatever you like> and the money will flow. Hat-tip to @Graham Butcher at this point. Wyx, now you're being disingenuous. The data is as presented on the website. Framing it as "EnterName's Data" vs "Truth" is getting into Clique territory of dishonesty, and I notice they have shown their approval of some of your posts. I literally cut and paste the graph from the website. It's not MY data, it's THE data as provided by that source. Haven't watched the video but I agree, there are way too many ideologues who think they can control everything better than just letting people trade freely. Whoa! Now this is quite a pivot from Captain Consensus, isn't it? 🤨 Suddenly you don't GAF about consensus, who cares about people's opinions!? INB4 "You're putting words in my mouth!" No. I'm not putting words in your mouth, I'm re-framing what you said to highlight the logical inconsistencies in your argument. LOL I missed this off my list of cliches. In return I offer: Let's be clear, Climate Change is more about wealth redistribution from developed countries to developing countries than any immediate threat to the planet. How's that for a fact? Yes, which is why I want the smallest Government possible. The less they can get their hands on to mess up for the rest of us, the better IMO. Your urge to tell people what to do and your desire to change laws to force them to do it if they don't comply drips from almost every post. I can just see you at the exit to Sainsbury's trying to tell people they have bought the "wrong" shopping, with "facts" and "data" to back up why they should have bought X instead of Y, which is killing people in Africa!!!!!! 😄
  3. Hyundai Ioniq 5 new version extended range. My wife loves her Kona and we need something slightly larger for holidays. The fast charging and features of the Ioniq 5 hits all the tick lists. I did test drive and Enyaq but the dealership experience was awful. I don't necessarily think Hyundai dealers will be better but the car was good and time for me to reduce the petrol bill. Last weekend we took 77 kWh off the grid to be paid 77p for doing so. Agile tariff. But this is really for another thread. Good luck to the OP in getting it sorted...
  4. Part changed, just need to wait for it to get cold again to see if it has cured it.
  5. As it's name suggests WD40 is a Water Displacer rather than an actual lubricant like GT85. My ex-BIL was a repair technician for Hoover white goods and always used GT85.
  6. Well just did a factory reset which came with another OTA update so will see how this goes...
  7. Bought the Citigo and very happy with it, feels like a bigger car. Thanks again for all the input.
  8. It sounds like it might not be adjusted or set up correctly on you have the car or towing equipment set incorrectly you'd need those that have training or experience in such to go through things with you. As for a better (in many ways) lubricant (and good penetrating/releasing agent) than WD-40 Multi-Use I recommend GT85. - https://gt85.co.uk/
  9. Roomster engines frequently came with dodgy injectors, ours included, though ours is a diesel. I have only replaced a couple injectors after 1 failed (electrical failure), and this got rid of 10yr issue of fuel ingress into oil. Yes, new injectors, be it petrol or diesel are pricy (diesel ones 5x more than petrol), but if you look at used car market what alternatives and engines you have to the Roomster and at what price, the new injectors are well worth it in today's market in my opinion. The key question you should be asking is why does the garage want £700 to replace them? A quick look at my (reliable parts and) injector suplier from Czechia (skoda-parts.com) shows prices of EUR70 / GBP60 for a brand new Bosch 1.2TSI petrol engine injector, at this price I'd replace all of them. My guess is you were quoted Skoda original part prices, do not get these, they are Bosch injectors anyway. So my guess is you can easily reduce the repair cost by half by going to an independent garage that can get you exactly the same Bosch injectors as Skoda would supply and fit them
  10. Good evening all I have a 2015 Skoda Yeti 2.0 In the last week or so my dash clock has remained but my radio clock has just gone to 0:00 and stays at that ...does anyone know how to reset this to be re-synced with the dashboard clock ... I've tried pressing and holding the on/off button ...I've also factory reset on the radio settings ...but nothing is helping Thanks in advance
  11. Is SNS poster the same as Satnav Systems Surbiton ? Also if Skoda main dealers can do it for around £1600 as stated why has no other posters such as myself been offered this fix by them ? As far as I have read on many posts on this subject non of the Skoda dealerships have even identified the problem let alone suggested a fix ? What Hardware may need changing?
  12. Check for obvious boost leaks or have it smoke tested
  13. Metal plate in engine bay, or occasionally on B pillar. Has VIN on it too. The smoke value is often in bottom right corner, and it should be in a rectangular box.
  14. B pillar on driver or passenger door opening normally with the weights.
  15. Plate value is what they should use 'if it can be read'. The wording in the test manual isn't wonderfully clear though, so the default limit is often mistakenly used. My A4 seems to have been tested to different limits almost in alternation.

Have a look at willtheyfit.com enter your current wheels, then the wheels you want to buy.
  17. Maybe you have a bad dealer, ours has been excellent not that we've needed them often. Our Karoq has been pretty much faultless.
  18. See this video, had the same problem, just resoldered the motor joints and works fine since then. It is cracked it will be bearily noticeable, should use a magnifier to check it.
  19. What do you mean by segments?
  20. Updated successfully using MIB and renaming the file to sqlite
  21. I am told by my dealer and Skoda UK the software update is due to be released on Monday 2nd December
  22. The Poll tax riots were in Scotland since it was started there before introduced in England or wales. In Dundee there were a married couple of councillors very much involved in the protests and they never paid their poll tax and yet still collected their wages / expenses as employees of the council. Other than councillor allowances.one was the Council Leader. We had Labour Councillors and Labour Councils back then in Scotland. No improvement really where there are SNP of Labour lead councils now. We did not need social media. We had DC Thomson press and the P&J and at one time Council George Galloway and the Gaddafi funded free news paper. Elsewhere Tommy Sheridan. PS, computer games industry pretty much started in Dundee, and all the library computers that Bill Gates donated made a big difference. Sinclair ZX spectrum computers and then Dave Jones in Dundee very much had Dundee ahead of many places as far as advances in computing. And also the corrupt Councilors. http://bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpvzp80jv07o Just this past week this film released.
  23. I'm also in the market for a new car for my wife, but I'm afraid that Skoda won't be seeing my cheque book this time round. Unfortunately, once your shiny new car leaves the showroom our experience has been that Skoda simply don't want to know. Dodgit and Scarper. I'm not making that error of judgement again.
  24. Why do you keep putting words into other people's mouth. The quoted bit does not have anything to do with what you said. It simply stated that you are wrong about market always right, summarising multiple evidences I've presented throughout. You have completely ignored that point because you no longer have anything to add, zero evidence or examples throughout last few posts. Ok, let me present my evidence that scientific consensus is the truthful and trustworthy. The scientific consensus for man made climate change comes from many researches building on one another. It is not artificial because the majority has to be in agreement and all evidences have been through the scientific method. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_consensus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method To combat what today we call climate change FUD, lots of scientists banded together: https://www.ucsusa.org/about/mission-values The level of consensus for man made climate change is as as strong as gravity, which is a fact. Now, I await your evidence to why you say that climate change scientific consensus is artificial and has vested interest. How could the majority be bought? My apologies. I meant to frame it as "EnterName's manipulated graph" vs "Truth". The website defaults to the truth I posted. Your graph was chosen to highlight your point. But percentage change from 0 will always be much higher than 1. Yes, the underlying data haven't changed, this is important and very valid point. But the way you chose to change the graph is not representative of truth and make your posts untrustworthy. I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of scientific consensus vs personal opinions. My opinion on climate change does not have any weight in climate science because I am no climate scientist. All the same, you and probably everyone on this forum opinion on climate change does not have any weight in climate science because they are no climate scientist. Indeed, very true. But it's important to remember that the overturning and change of consensus was done through the scientific method by actual scientists verifying work by "pariah". They eventually gain recognition if multiple papers verified their new theory. Thus the new theory becomes the consensus. They key is always that the public doesn't get involved. Can you image how long news networks like CNN/GBNews could debate if Earth circulating sun was just discovered today?
  25. @JamieH86 - You don't say which year this is, but a 1.9TDi may well not have a DPF to regenerate!
  26. @Ootohere I'll give this a try and report back. thanks
  27. Press and hold TC /Traction Control button and turn TC off. Then try it and see if what you had was a bit of wheel spin and no light for it just the power cut. Also do the same in manual. Do not shift just go to M1 and floor it forcing the box to shift up. TC off, does it do it then?
  28. I would run it as long as possible. I was thinking of buying a Scala but from the youtube videos the complexity of the infotainment and other electrical aids and engine bay looks a nightmare to drive and maintain. £700 may seem expensive but that would soon be swallowed up by depreciation if buying a replacement vehicle.
  29. I changed the MAP sensor last night and that seems to have resolved the issue (fingers crossed), the car now drives as it should and has full power throughout, no recurring EPC light. So long as this continues ill be keeping the car so will look to tidy up the few bits i knew about when i bought it. Discounting this minor drama its looking like a fair buy, Thanks for your support, no doubt i'll be back asking about something else at some point! Cheers
  30. @VenomVrs What are you measuring with? Voltage regulators are controlled differently in start/stop cars, and AGM batteries may be charged at higher voltages than conventional ones. Dave is showing max charging voltages per cell for these batteries at different temperatures. Multiply by 6 to get voltage between battery posts.
  31. Yes doesn't sound that friendly if garage is saying don't come back next year for MOT. DieselV6 gives good advice and try and find a honest small family run independent garage that wants your custom.
  32. Hi. Bought a Skoda Fabia Estate yesterday which is suffering from the crackly CarPlay issue. Please could someone send me the updated firmware file to fix this? thank you 👍 Paul paul.colling @ gmail. com
  33. What works did they indicate it would require next year?
  34. Updated with running engine as well no issues all fine. And no faults like other here I don't know what's going wrong then.
  35. This is a classic example of why it is so important to try and establish where these scientific reports and YouTube channels etc receive their funding from, and you can get a pretty good idea from seeing who these are associated with as they will a vested interest in the "right" result. Remember, "Follow the Money" and "He who pays the piper calls the Tune"
  36. If that battery was near to fully charged and voltage has dropped to less than 40% in two weeks on open circuit, it is probably bad. It may be possible to recover, but almost certainly beyond it.
  37. Cuts in Government funding in recent years for e.g. the SERC led to there being some eminent scientists appearing on the media expressing concerns that as their funding would now have to increasingly come from corporates they would be pressured to produce the "right" results from their now commercially funded research. There's a long history over hundreds of years of the accepted scientific status quo being eventually overturned by scientists who were initially treated as heretics or pariahs, e.g. the sun and planets circulating around the earth. So I believe it's understandable that research results from funding by corporates and a majority view may not be seen as an accurate representation of scientific 'fact' in some quarters.
  38. Apparently according to the manual: Switching low beam on automatically in rain The light switch is in the position Auto The function is activated. The windscreen wipers have been switched on for longer than 30 seconds.
  39. Those people don't work for Volkswagen UK (all the brands come under them). They're employed by an American call centre operator, TTEC. Their entire role seems to be to fob people off.
  40. I phoned the Skoda Head Office and explained the situation but the female employee denied that there had been any such problem ( kangarooing issues ) and dismissed my research as false internet rubbish.
  41. Thank-you for your reply. To be honest I haven't seen the Skoda dealers England yet. Thank you for the link.
  42. Ok . I found it. Update passed correctly. Before update my problem was to not have menu closing and windows. I was thinking it's maybe software problem but still nothing. I checked also obdeleven and it seems to be good and menu doesn't appear.
  43. Yes. So long as the wiring is still in the housing, just buy the right mirror, pull off all the old stuff, connect and clip on new mirror. Sounds like the body shop was sloppy to me.
  44. No surprises there that council /public funded ones are the worst ones at repairing them even despite there being regulations and requirements, who is going to challenge them, when they make the rules themselves? Back in 1990 when the Poll Tax riots were taking place which actually did manage to bring about change to the tax situation, social media was almost non-existent and not many people had access to the hardware or software then so mass public demonstrations which often ended up as riots were the only way to get the full extent of public opinion known. Sure, there were loads of people writing letters of complaints to the respective authorities, but they are much easier to placate than an angry mob on your door, which would you personally prefer to see, more riots or massive social media peaceful upraising making it clear that these peoples continued tenure in office really depends on being re-elected at the next elections as opposed to massive public gatherings which get quickly out of hand and become full-blown riots with all the injuries and property damage that results from it?
  45. I'm sure this conversion has been done to death, but on the off-chance it's not been noticed, here it is. Purchased from ebay https://ebay.us/BozwJK For £28.00 I brought this bonnet gas struts conversion. It's simplicity it's self with only two bolts per side and makes a huge difference to the Access to the engine bay. Oh, and it looks really cool too. Under 1/2 hour to fit and a one person job. I hope this brings something to the table that can benefit others.

@Stewart7 Is your DSG going into Coasting then when in ECO Mode. Instead of D7 or D6 the indicator just shows D. Which is fine. No load on engine no need to be engaged in Drive, touch brake or accelerator and back into D7 or D6. There are various things that can go wrong / play up with a DQ200 DSG, but best just use it, not abuse it and they are pretty well OK. There was a Service Campaign called in 2017 on some from 2013-2015, a software update. '34H5', maybe check if that was needed or carried out. (That was a preventative measure because of pressure / heat issues.)
  47. 1 point
So you have a 1.4. that means you have the dq200 box with twin dry clutches. I believe they are hydraulically controlled. The wet system is a multi plate clutch. From a little digging I can't tell if the dry variant is multi plate or single plate. For what it's worth, I can't recall a story of release bearings or similar wearing out on one of these in 13 years of using briskoda or other similar sites. I'm not sure it's anything to be concerned about.
  48. I can send update and you apply yourself.
