  2. Speaking of tyres on a hatch, 2017, and 220 - I'm really happy with the Continental MaxContact6 tyres on mine. 245/40r19.
  3. There's a good chance it's one of mine in my last few months at work....
  4. It is nice when we get good service even though that seems to be rare these days! Thanks again for the pointer towards the alternative app. Long live the essentials app 😁🤣
  5. It breifly appeared in the configurator this week but its gone again. Probably someone enabled the model too early.
  6. The answer to that is dead simple; get out there and vote, and tell folk you know to vote.
  7. I'm going to look in a while. I've taken the seat base out, then I'll unbolt the thing and take it indoors. I've looked in the car and can't see anything obvious. Not sure if it's something that can be opened. Or if that's a good idea given how important it is.

    Weather

i lit our stove on Thursday night.. felt emotionally unwell doing it in the month of May!
  9. Have you tried looking inside with a torch? Might be something has fallen inside
  10. We're stopping in an Airbnb this weekend and the heating is via a nest thermostat that appears to be locked at 20 degrees meaning the heating isn't coming on in the lounge which is only about 18 degrees and a tad cool. I've there done a temporary hack with an ice pack...
  11. Based on @sepulchrave suggestion, find matched struts and you can avoid buying spring compressors.
  12. Fair. I also considered the Golf R estate for exactly that reason. Ultimately, it was that bit smaller than the Octavia and I would have been much more worried about it getting nicked as well as significantly higher insurance premiums!
  13. Car sold yesterday 🙄 ..... the search continues G
  14. Worcester's 35 seats LABOUR just failed to get majority and got 17 seats, Green 12, LibDems 5 and Cons left with just one incredibly. So Labour will need to work with Greens I suppose to get things done.
  15. My previous car was a 2015 Octavia vRS estate, mapped (Revo stage 1) to just north of 300bhp. It went well as a 220, but the extra oomph was quite noticeable I certainly wouldn't count another vRS out, but I'm leaning towards the creature comforts of a Superb (my first Skoda was a Mk1 Superb). I've also never owned a 4WD car before - that's a want, rather than a need Gaz
  16. Just this week a user posted a complete guide in the Dutch Skodaforum: https://www.skodaforum.nl/forum/i/repareren-lekkende-slang-ruitensproeiervloeistof-achterklep.49019/
  17. Although by this morning they seem to have disappeared from the configurator! I imagine they'll be back sooner or later.
  18. @DanielleWelcome. What is it a 2.0 TSI and Manual or DSG? Or a 1.5 TSI ACT. Do you get these in Australia? Any further on with the Dealership diagnosing and sorting the fault?
  19. Thank you so much again everyone, your advice has been so helpful 🥰 I am going to go for Geolandars 215/60R16 on my current rims 👌🙏 🚗
  20. Further to a Queen theme, it's a kind of magic ...
  21. Just seen the Sheffield results... No overall control on something like a 38% turnout... So once again we have a coalition with the small number of Greens effectively holding all the cards and being the power brokers... So same old **** again...
  22. Today
  23. I was having this exact same debate 12 months ago. I might have gone for a Superb but I really wanted an estate and could only find hatches within budget at the time. I ended up with a 2019 Octavia VRS 245 estate and couldn’t be happier. Huge amounts of space, really nice to drive, quick but not blisteringly so (remap pending this summer), 45 MPG on a steady run (I have averaged 36 in 12 months) and a great looking car. Certainly worth considering.
  24. As an aside, I just looked in my shed and found the throttle cleaner I used on a mate's car, I've not used it yet on my wife's Fabia because the mileage isn't that high yet and I loathe doing anything on our cars and that one particularly, as he didn't want to remove the throttle body we used it on the car but it did not do as well as I would usually have it by taking parts off the car. I normally also use clean old rags (so not the ones I wear) and if appropriate a clean old toothbrush too. Other brands are available just the one I bought, (keeps it German too 😁) Liqui Moly Pro-Line Drossen Klappen Reiniger (Clean Throttle Flaps) Throttle Valve Cleaner. -https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/gb/pro-line-throttle-valve-cleaner-p000072.html#5111 I have also used a MAF sensor cleaner on a few mates' vehicles to good effect, one in particular a 2005 diesel small car type van, on the test drive after he said it was the first time in a very long time he got up the rev range that high, I only cleaned the sensor nothing more. It was of no noticeable just, driving effect on my wife's Fabia as it was lower mileage and quite clean anyway (I didn't bother checking with scan tool), I only done the Fabia because it was so easy to access, VW didn't even bother to use the two screw holes available on the sensor just the usual VAG fantastic-plastic clips.
